I'd like to point out that this thread is mistitled. The Jets are definitely not maintaining their mediocrity. Mediocrity is a Jets fan's fantasy right now.

Interesting how the Jets are the 2nd oldest team in the NFL. It seems pretty likely that there will be a great Bowles Movement at the end of the season and after the purge they'll be in total rebuild mode. It'll be just like the Browns, but they'll be starting a year later and with no bag full of draft picks. Either that or they'll try to 'fix it' and add a few older vets and be in the same place a year from now, and still need a rebuild.

Honestly the Jets program is a mess. Between no viable QBs on the roster, aging WRs and no secondary even if they blow that team up there isnt alot they can do. Its going to be awhile until they even can claw back to their mediocrity. The only value they have is at Dline, unless they draft their face off next 2 years its going to be rebuilding for awhile.

Everyone watch out for a new Windows Virus going around! It installs itself through opening emails on important computer files. It locks the files and needs a password to open. The virus gives you a number to call to retrieve the password.

The called number leads to a NY residence in which the scammer tells you that if you want the password, you have to accept free Jets season tickets. After giving him your name and address, you receive the password as well as Jets season tickets one week later.

The Jets are paying $29,000,000 (or roughly 20% of their Salary Cap) to have Darrelle Revis and Ryan Fitzpatrick on their roster.

How's that working out?

Yep, that's why the Jets fans are walking away from the team in droves. The notion they've carried through the Mangini/Ryan/Bowels eras (so at least a decade or so now) that they're just a coach or a player or two away from being a winner is dying and it's dying hard. Joe Benigno's rant above says it all, he said he feels like the Jets are back in the Rich Kotite era again! So not only to they need to go through this crap season, they need probably two seasons with strong drafts to get in to playoff contention. Even that requires a lot of things to break right. It's clear they need to find a franchise caliber QB and it's pretty clear they need to start all over again with a new coaching staff.
