Jets Suck -- 2016 Edition (Official): Futility Confirmed

I remember how happy Jets fans were last year after they got back Revis and Cromartie plus Buster Skrine. Talks about having the best secondary in the NFL. Fast forward to this year, Revis is struggling and ailing and Cromartie is gone while their secondary is getting lit up every weekend.

Haha yup, remember this?

When they signed him, they acted like they just won the Superbowl

Why? They're an odd mixture of over paid vets (yes, Fitzy, plus Revis, Decker, Marshall, etc) and a few decent DL/ILB types and then a large pile of mediocre players that have a hard time making most NFL rosters.

Well obviously I disagree. Marshall and Decker are freakin awesome. Hell, they made Fitz look good last season! That's saying something. Then Quincy Enunwa looks great. Plus 3 promising rookie WRs and 2nd year Devin Smith all have potential once Fitz is gone.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins is a top notch character guy at TE.

Oline? Definitely have to direct some draft picks here. But Mangold rules and it is a pretty good Oline still. Maybe Clady can stay healthy.

Forte is still damn good and Powell is a beast.

Dline is top notch.

Plenty of good young LBs. Lee, Jenkins, Mauldin being led by the old dog (in a good way) Harris.

Revis isn't the goat anymore but he's still a top corner and this is the last season he's guaranteed top CB money. Skrine is a very solid CB. Pryor is still learning, but very promising.

Plenty of reasons to be a happy Jet fan.

So, you have no limit on the suckage you're going to put up with? I guess not, since your team is heading towards 50 years of futility. However, in my book, there's a difference between being a fan and being an idiot.

So there weren't any Patriot fans before Belichick and Brady?

And they won't be missed.

I actually feel for ya here. Even our back-to-back championship games caused a ton of frontrunner support. It's annoying as crap. Plus raises ticket prices.

I guess it tells you something about the Jets that this Jets fan prefers to come here on the morning after another humiliating loss.

Better to be treated with contempt by PatsFans than join his fellow Rats chewing at each other's gonads, I suppose.

I was purposely letting you guys have fun, but Jokester missed me and asked me to join in.

But yes, this is a nice change of pace from the in-fighting over at JetNation.

Yep, because there was a whole lot of good football before Belichick and Brady. If I were a Jets fan (damn it hurt to write that, lol) after almost 50 years of crap I'd find something better to do with my life than don the Green Slime gear and fork over my hard earned cash to Woody Johnson for a seat in Giants Stadium. Can you believe some Jets fans actually paid good money and blew off a weekend to be in Pittsburgh to watch Revis sit on the bench and for the Jets to get crushed by the Steelers?

Bowles looked like a good coach last season, he is in Jim Caldwell league right now and that might be a little unfair to Jim.

So just to summarize, you're saying Patriot football pre-Bellichick/Brady was better than 50 years of Jets history. In fact not just better, but so much better that there shouldn't even be any Jet fans.

To summarize, yes, the Pats history pre-Bellichick is definitely better than that of the Jets during the post-1969 to the "I resign as HC of NYJ" time frame (it's demonstrably true, we made 2 SB appearances, the Jets made none), and I say that Jets fans are idiots for putting up with such a crappy team and such crappy ownership. I never said there should be zero Jets fans, as logical a conclusion as that is to make, even for a victimized, tortured and thus demented Jets fan such as yourself, for indeed it is you saying that.

If you want it in one simple, easy to consume sentence:

YOU ARE AN IDIOT FOR BEING A JETS FAN!!!

If you don't believe me, go back to your home forum, there's plenty of Jets fans that will tell you the same thing.

So Tunescribe, after reading through this thread, I think it is obvious to everyone that referring to the the Rats' 2016 season as "mediocre" was wildly optimistic on your part.

Perhaps you could say that "mediocre" was meant relative to Jesters' past performance. But I agree. There comes a point beyond which no rational being could continue to have expectations for anything but mediocrity. But then there are Rats fans ...

The 2016 Jets: Valiantly continuing their struggle to reach mediocrity!
