NFL News Jets Have Informed Gase He'll Be Fired After Sunday's Game

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
I thought Lawrence already said he was staying in school?
No, he has all but said he is leaving. If he stays, we will know that the Clemson compensation program is better than the NFL.

I'd take Gase as an offensive assistant. Doesnt have the tools necessary to be a great HC but I think we are a bit thin on that side of ball... particularly if Josh leaves. Not sure theres anyone on roster capable of OC duties? Even if he is QB coach and we hire someone to design gameplans and call plays.
What team in their right mind would hire Skippy after watching this utter custerfluck of an offense?

Who would have ever thought Greg Williams would keep getting defensive coordinator jobs!

2021 is already looking better.
Yep ... you had no coach all year and you still have no coach ... Jete world .... Jete just Jete-ing on ... be more Jete.

A radio report in New York this week indicated that Gase has already been told that he’ll be relieved of duties after Week 17. On Wednesday, Gase said that isn’t the case.

“That was news to me. No one has said that to me,” Gase said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY

Just when you think the Jets just couldn't possibly outjets themselves again, they just keep demonstrating why they are the premiere laughingstock of the league. No other team comes close.

To think I was so anti Daboll as our OC but also it’s not fair he has a rocket armed quick footed QB and stud wrs across the board.

Allen put up very mediocre production 2 years ago. Daboll developed and coached up Allen. Same with the rest of the offense. Odd you act as if he was just handed talent. No. He developed talent over 3 years. This is part of the OC's job. Well at least other OCs. In New England we excuse the total lack of talent development by the OC.

The guy forced out the gm and had total control and ran the offense. In 2 years he built it into 32nd in points, 32nd in yards, 32nd in first downs and 32nd in passing.
He literally single handed my built the worst offense in football. Why exactly would you want him?

You talking about Josh McDaniels (St Louis, 2011), or Adam Gase ? Just checking....

When you think of the "development" of the QB, WR, and TE personnel over the past few years, the trajectory is strikingly similar to Enron.

Week 16 2020.......Insolvency

QB starter....34 yds passing
TE production.....0 yds
#1 draft pick WR.....3 yds

The Jete are the gift that keeps on giving. Foul up on Lawrence, humiliate their coach... If they beat the Pats, we could move ahead of some other teams. Can you imagine? I think if Dallas and Minnesota win we can move up to 11th in the draft with a loss? I don't know where that would put us in the group of 6-10 teams, but is it possible the Jete could move us into 10th? They would actually help the Pats long term by beating them?

I'll be rooting for the Vikings over Lions and Cowboys over Giants. Long shots, Chargers over Chiefs, 9ers over Seahawks. If all the 6-9 teams win but the Pats... where does that put them in tiebreakers over the other 6-10 teams?

Is this how the the rest of the NFL thinks when they are out of it? At least gives me something to cheer for on Sunday.

Exactly and it's befuddling how McDaniels isn't getting called out in media for the horrific Zero development on offense for many years now. Brady made this guy. He's nothing without Brady.

Duh.
If you want McDaniels numbers, here are some.
In 15 years as a hc or oc in scoring he has been
Top 4 8 times
Top 8 11 times
And his averaging ranking is top 10
In yards he has been
Top 7 8 times
Top 11 10 times
And his average ranking is 11

in w/l % he has been
Top 4 8 times
Top 6 11 time
Average ranking 8

Amazing you could have these 2 coaches mixed up

This game is going to really suck. I might not even bother watching tbh.
Were it on TV here (it's not) I'd watch to see how the never started players on our roster perform. Like a pre-season game just early on.
Some guys will play themselves out of a job Sunday.

What's really amazing is trying to pass off Brady and Bill's accomplishments as McDaniels'

If you took out his Pats years he's probably in the top 11 zero times in everything and his average ranking would be 20 something at best.

There's only one player that I hope (and pray) played himself out of a job here.
