Maybe it will be Vernon Gholston. Jets fans after he was drafted were all excited about his first introduction to Brady on the field. Unfortunately for Jets fans, it went something like this:

"Tom, my name is Vernon. Big fan! Now I am going to go sit on the bench for the rest of the game. Maybe we can shake hands after the game."

I remember when jests fans and some of the jests NY regional media guys were saying how great the Gholston pick was and how much of a reach Mayo was. And that Gholston was who Belichick wanted and once the jests took him that's why Belichick traded back to 10.

When in fact Belichick traded back 3 spots because the Saints wanted to trade up and Bill wanted to get another pick because they lost their other 1st round pick

They mad, they mad....courtesy of JI:

What a pathetic fan base.

Jeebus, they sound like that angry virgin boy who shot up Santa Barbara last week.

I misread the title a Jet fans, UMD and I wondered why anyone would insult the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth?

Still can't figure out why Revis didn't take long term guaranteed money from Jets. Did they actually offer him a long term deal and he didn't accept? I mean, leaving and going to Tampa...come on man ! Must have been more than just the money......maybe he got sick of being on a loser team and wanted a fresh start.

If I remember his long term deal with the Jets was like $20 this year and a cheese sandwich next year. He signed it and all, but you gotta think somewhere somebody must've told him that they'll renegotiate those later years because he held out and stuff.

Although that just proves that the oral crap is not nearly as binding as what is written, I think that soured him on long term deals.

According to Revis, the Patriots aren’t anything like what he pictured them to be in his six seasons as a Jet.
“From the inside, it’s totally different,” Revis said. “There are things you didn’t expect from how this organization is [run], from top to bottom. You’ve got to take your hat off to [owner Robert] Kraft for how this organization operates. They want to be a winning organization, and I’m happy those guys gave me an opportunity to come in here and be a part of it.”

day mad

I like how the title says one thing and then that quote basically contradicts.

Also laughed at this

The words “right now” were telling, because logic — and the salary cap — dictates the $20 million team option for 2015 in Revis’ deal means this will be the All-Pro cornerback’s lone season in a Patriots uniform.

It's not like he and the Pats could agree on a new deal or anything.

The NY Post is a cesspool like those turds over at JI. They are still so bitter he chose us...Revis isn't "long" for the pats...ya that's why he didn't choose them..

Ya like how they put it out there that Revis wanted to go back to the Jets above everyone else.

I'm assuming that it was more of a Patriots related decision than a choice made by Revis' camp to basically do a one-year deal (aside from the fact that it was obviously Revis' guys who added in the 2nd year to avoid being franchised).

One can assume that Revis would have been fine with a longer term deal worth an AAV of 12 million per year, but that the Pats wanted to make sure that everything was good before agreeing to that kind of major deal. The downside to this of course, is that it will likely end up costing more in the long run by waiting, but it was probably the much better decision.
