How to tank without actually tanking...

Yep, with this move not working out our cb’s are officially hot garbage the rest of the way.

Pair that with judon out, the most important guy on the team. And bourne possibly the most important on offense. This was already a pretty heavily flawed team and now they are depleted. Top 3 isn’t out of the question imo

I would move on from Jack Jones and JC. I thought Jack would learn his lesson after the gun incident but he is still making bad decisions. JC isn't the same player and is also not making good decisions. I wouldn't take the risk with these two players, especially if we were in contention for a playoff spot. Time to add the need for cornerbacks to the rebuild.

Can't imagine he is a great influence on Jack Jones who has had a similar history of immaturity and off-field issues.
OK, the challenge is to the COACHES.

Both Jackson and Jones have sufficient talent to be major contributors to what would be a top 5 secondary in 2025. If they are not here, then Steve can leave with Bill.

Yup, we have players that need coaching to get them to produce. Let's just get rid of them and play Bryant, Wade and Bolden instead. NOT

Belichick has turned the New England Patriots into a national laughingstock....I wonder what Patriot is going to show his pecker to a female reporter this weekend; that's the way this team is headed
They might be too embarrassed to even whip it out!

Jackson has had issues in his past. While he ended up being found not guilty he was arrested for armed robbery and left UF. He has had a few minor arrests in the league and clearly has maturity issues. Not to say he is Aaron Hernandez or anything but he doesn't seem to be the most professional guy or learn from his mistakes.
To put it simply.. he got paid and checked out.. he has generational wealth courtesy of the chargers.

How does a person change so much so quickly? Was his ego inflated like crazy by that contract?
He hasn't been the same the moment he got injured in LA. I guess he feels good about getting paid $38.5 from the Chargers, so he feels like he can coast by and not work hard to overcome his injuries. He's going to out of the league soon unless the dysfunctional Pats keep him.

I said it before and got pushback, but this was an idiotic trade by Bill. I don't care if was for a low round pick swap.

I think the coaches are having a hard enough time connecting with the players that don't have character issues let alone the ones that do.

anyone know the contract situation?

is he even going to last the season?

This is the s**t that happens when you have players on the roster who are frontrunners and are unable to be self-responsible.
But posters on here still advocate for ignoring that and drafting and playing solely on talent with no concern about character.

Big part of the coach’s job is keeping the inmates from turning the asylum into chaos. Also the most thankless.

And they seem to be feeding each other positive reinforcement for negative behavior.

Yep. I'm totally fine with taking flyers on undesirables with immense talent but once they start going off the rails then they need to be cut loose.

In general I think BB has been pretty good in this area.

Considering the sheer amount of baggage JC had they won a SB and got some really good years out of him.

He might be too far gone for saving. Who knows.
