JC Jackson not traveling to Germany for "mental reset"

We suck too bad for this to even matter. Winning solves everything. Guys don't even care to tackle on our team and that probably comes from a feeling of hopelessness when they watch how little our offense and special teams contribute each week.

So Wade gets to play and show why we held onto such a seemingly useless player for the last few seasons.

Who cares? He's done. He is a wealthy adult that should be able to take care of himself. Let him hire his own babysitter if he needs one.
That’s a charitable assumption, but it’s good to give benefit of the doubt even when the recip has done their best to remove all doubt.

Nobody else owes him a structured world or a babysitter. He’s got the money to make his world whatever he chooses. Right now he chooses to not play NFL football.

No it was correct the first time. Doctors greenlighting him to play after only 4 weeks of ankle surgery was bizarre given that Mac sat out for 3 weeks with an ankle sprain. The guy was hobbling around the field, then he preceded to tear his patellar tendon. Gee, I wonder how? Chargers never saw a healthy Jackson play in a game, yet they throw him under the bus. The Chargers were desperate to get their money's worth rushing him back and it backfired badly.
Ok, on second thought you’re right.

I’ll give you that he physically has not been the same since his injury.

Mentally he’s the same outlaw punk that he was in college. Getting paid didn’t change that, nor did getting hurt.

He has no excuse what he's currently doing in NE today. He probably feels like he can get away with it because he's got $38.5 from the Chargers and the team isn't winning. Players start going rogue when it's a losing culture.

My point was to question whether he perhaps should've been fined and kept with the team. At least that way they could possibly get something out of him, it's not like he'll have an epiphany and become a good soldier with two weeks off. Or maybe he will, we'll see.

I don't get it .. how will a team with losing culture with rigid rules and curfew bring in buy in from a player gone rogue.

Sorry , but this is going to be more the norm than exception and we need to have a better way to handle prima Donna than benching or making them inactive. If I have made millions and won a ring I am okay with the punishment because the game is no fun when I am not winning.

The Patriots way or bills way works only when we win. When we suck so bad , it is just a triple strike on us . These methods do not work and I don't think bill understands it . We need to move away from bill . Either we need to have shanahan type play-calling or Mike Tomlin's personnel management .

Bill is pretty ordinary without Brady. I am not saying it's all Brady, but without Brady , bill currently is nothing home to write about as a coach or as a tactician.

Am I to presume
1) that our densese weren't great for the past 20 years, or

2) brady was responsibile for Defense

Defense can help you keep up in games when the offense has off days . If offense doesn't click no defense is effective.

Brady and scar made up for the offensive deficiencies and poor draft picks. Now we are paying the price for the busted draft picks and off-season acquisitions.

Bill was great till 2018 and then slowly started to unravel over last 5 years . No point having a defensive coach who sucks as a talent evaluator, cannot do anything on offensive side and who is unable to manage prima Donna players . No stud young player would want to come here . No wonder our free agency sucks .

He hasn't been the same the moment he got injured in LA. I guess he feels good about getting paid $38.5 from the Chargers, so he feels like he can coast by and not work hard to overcome his injuries. He's going to out of the league soon unless the dysfunctional Pats keep him.

I said it before and got pushback, but this was an idiotic trade by Bill. I don't care if was for a low round pick swap.
Given the number of DB injuries there were not many options. Desperate trade for sure, not idiotic. The recent developments have made it look idiotic to think that JC would play better as a Patriot. JC has shown his true colors and hasn't been the same the moment he signed his contract. He waited until his first training camp with the Chargers to have elective surgery for a bone spur and then got benched before his major ankle injury.

But posters on here still advocate for ignoring that and drafting and playing solely on talent with no concern about character.

Big part of the coach’s job is keeping the inmates from turning the asylum into chaos. Also the most thankless.
So Bill fails on both counts. He drafts players with character issues and can't keep "the inmates from turning the asylum into chaos."

No, he had an issue with his ankle that Doctors said it required surgery which took place in August of 2022. Then he tore his patellar tendon week 7.

The important point is that JCJ's issues are more attitude than physical. There have been reports that the ankle surgery was a comfort management thing vs mandatory. Regardless, it was not new or a major surgery and unrelated to his attitude problem that developed immediately after he left the Pats, AKA his new lucrative contract. The Chargers GM would not have felt the need to apologize to the team for a player who did not work out due to injuries. Even now any limitations on the field are not as impactful as his lack of effort and attitude.
