Ja'Marr Chase Suspended 1 Game; APPEAL DENIED

Nah. NFLPA shares responsibility for appointing hearing officers. Besides they’ve got bigger fish to fry. On top of all that they’d be suing to allow disrespect of their members without consequences. Remember that this was member on member violence as far as NFLPA is concerned.

I don't care what you say. Its a one game suspension.

I would love to know what he says when the league shows him the video and they ask him so what was that?

According to some clowns on here, they are going to throw themselves at his feet and reduce the suspension to just a fine.

Hey Dude I was replying to comments of others who brought it up. Geez.
Ya don't. Its not a frkin Brady thread. Practically every thread has a way of turning into a pissing match on a topic not related to the thread. You suck when you do it.

Gonzo would’ve locked him up.

My question is if he will be allowed to play pending an appeal hearing. That is, assuming it can't be formally arranged yet this week. You have to figure he will appeal even with damning video evidence, considering there's more than $500k at stake.
It's one game check, so probably closer to $2MM

I am sad to hear he isn't playing from a purely selfish perspective. Yeah, the suspension is fair. Not saying it isn't. But i wanted our D to play him. I think it would have been a great test for the D. If we want to get to the promised land this year it would be nice to let them have a taste of playing the best WR in the league.

This offensive line played Garrett. It sucked, but they probably came out the other side better for it. I think Chase could have been a similar thing.

Who spits on another human? I mean honestly, I've been on this earth more than 60 years and I've never spit at anyone. Plus, through the facemask is risky business, he could have gotten a hanging lougy.

Per report:
If his one-game suspension stands, Ja'Marr Chase will lose $507,156, which includes his weekly paycheck of approximately $448,333 and his $58,823 per-game active roster bonus. He is appealing the suspension, but if it is upheld, he will miss the Week 12 game against the New England Patriots.
  • Weekly Paycheck: $448,333
  • Per-Game Active Bonus: $58,823
  • Total Loss: $507,156

Yeah, lotta self indulgent stupidity on dosplay in appealing the suspension. You'd think between the vid and then the flat out lie he'd want this to die down ASAP
Technically he did not lie, he said he didn’t spit on nobody. Which can mean he spat at somebody.

Wow. I can’t believe they actually went through with suspending him. I thought for sure they would let him play agaisnt NE.

Made that same point here in an earlier post:

NFL OFFICIAL: Who do the Bengals play next?
INTERN: The Patriots.
NFL: *pauses* Fine him a **** ton and make sure he's eligible for the game.

Nothing is for certain when it comes to the league.
Seriously. The New York Offices are 1000% against the Patriots. But Chase definitely should be suspended a game. Maybe they will let him serve his suspension AFTER the Patriots game with some weird made up excuse.

I thought he was making well over 30 Mill per year?

I don't know the particulars but aren't most of these contracts structurer in ways that mean you don't just divide the total amount by the number of games?

Correct. If his suspension is upheld, he loses a portion of his base salary plus per-game bonuses, but the other bonuses (signing, workout, and other performance incentives) are unaffected.

Why would them reducing it to a fine be so crazy. Look at the history of the league. They have swept violent crimes under the rug for star players (see Ray Rice).

It is probably less likely now. But if the Bengals were good and fighting for a playoff spot, the division, or the #1 seed, I wouldn’t have been surprised they would have done anything to justify this as a fine worthy offense and not a suspension.
