I've Seen Enough of Drake Maye...

Dysfunction how?
Are you telling me having a bad season every 23 years is a sign of dysfunction?
I’m being realistic.
4-13 is what I'm talking about doesn't get more dysfunctional than that. Let's wait a bit to reserve judgement.. anyways the main story is Drake if Drake is playing I like our chances

Well since they have been on the field yet, we can only consider how the operation looks at this point. If you are expecting good things on the field this year, I’d lower those expectations.

I’m not sure when belichick talked about who was going to play and conflicted with his own words, or that he called a coordinator hc of the offense, or that his front office announced we think we have all the pieces a d then he said our starters may not be on the roster, so I think you are making stuff up to feel better about what, so far has been a dumpster fire
What am I making up. Your conjuring stuff up that you have no idea of how it's actually going to happen. Just waiting until Sept 8 for the season to begin. I'm going to root for the team win or loose.

My take today is the same take that I have had since they draft Maye. The priority this year is to develop Maye into a franchise and hopefully someday an elite QB not wins. I don't care how bad the Pats are this year. Do not start him until they are sure he is ready. I am ready to go 0-17 if necessary.

Now they may feel that he is ready to start now. If so, then go ahead. But being better than Brissett, who has sucked in the preseason, does not necessarily mean he is ready.

I am encouraged by Maye's play, but it still was against backups. So I am not going to go too overboard. I still wonder how well he can play under center. It sucks that Andrews didn't play on Sunday to see more of how good he can take the hand offs and drop back.

I still think he needs to sit at least until they get the o-line stabilized. But I will not be upset if he never sees the field this year either.

Ok belichick has the greatest run in the history of the sport and then a 4-13 season and he is dysfunctional while the new guys can’t even get their stories to line up and that’s not? Ok. I see your agenda.

You made up that belichick said contradictory things. Please give some examples to compare to the numerous ones the current staff has made in the last month.

It actually can. 4-13's a bad season. They could legitimately go 2-15 or worse this year. Is that less dysfunctional?

You tell me? It's just some people overreacting to every bit of information. Let it play out on the field and see how it goes. Dysfunction can happen in many ways. Until we get a win loss record for this season I will say last season was dysfunctional.

Well zapp goes from worst to first... signed to KC practice squad..

More like Zappe went from outhouse to cardboard box. The lowest compensated roster player is still nibbling substantially more cheddar than a 3rd year player on a PS. His work address might be better, his paycheck sure as hell isn't

This and he has no prospects of getting play time. Here there was a chance maybe someone got injured or he could make a case to be the best option right now. This is like being the PS QB on the Tom Brady Patriots. Barring something crazy, he's going to float around Practice Squads the rest of his career until he fades out.

OFC we don't know his exact reasoning but from a career standpoint it sure seems to the untrained eye he most likely would have been better served to wait for the dust to settle

Good one. Lol... guys gonna get a championship being on the PS.. who would have thought!

Dysfunctional is accurate. Klemm publicly fighting with another Pats coach before he went AWOL. BOB not being allowed to use his own staff. BB literally shutting out Jones from his circle of trust. The Patricia and Judge fiasco.

Bill is .426 post Brady. That’s more than just one “bad season”.

We've fallen so far to be praying Lowe and Sow are healthy enough to play.
If they don't put Onwenu back at RG, I'll be pissed. Robinson was manhandled by 2nd/3rd string DL
The new Tackles should get a shot. A swing Tackle on any other team is better than what we have.
Wallace should be in at RT.
This is our best shot right now...

Lowe - Sow - Andrews - Onwenu - Wallace

Then let Jacobs beat out Lowe if/when he can.
If Sow is still too hurt wk 1, try Leverett (I guess) but he sucks at Center

I’m glad you are ready to go 0-17, but I’m not. Start Maye.

Looks like the 100,000 to 1 bet I placed a couple of years ago that Zappe would win a championship might finally pay off.
Tease it with Pats winning SB at +30,000 and then buy the Pats from Kraft and spend some money on the roster

I’m glad you are ready to go 0-17, but I’m not. Start Maye.

I am ready if it is in the best interest of this team's future. If you want to go 6-12 and destroy Maye for the future and the Pats needing to find a new QB in three years because Maye becomes another Tony Eason or Mac Jones, more power to you.

My primary objective is to get this team back to being a contender not to make this team average in 2024. If Maye is ready and there is little to no negative impact to starting him right away, then start him. If it is in the best interest of this team for the future to sit him the entire year, sit the guy. It is that simple.

If he is groomed correctly, Maye has the potential to be the Pats' franchise QB (or possibly even an elite QB in this league) for the next 20 years. If he is mismanaged, he could end up being a failed experiment where the Pats have to go back to the drawing board to find a new QB in three years. Too many bad teams rush young QBs to start when they aren't ready and break them. The Pats broke Mac Jones (whether you think he was going to be any good or not).

Maye may be ready to start, but I ain't going to say he is based on a limited sample size against defenses playing back ups with vanilla defenses. He showed promise in that playing time, but it isn't real NFL football behind a crap o-line and an inexperienced receiving corp against real defenses with actual gameplans.

Gotta play your hand: from the beginning I knew it was a Horrible move getting Biscuit. Nobody here wants to watch him play: what we are seeing is no surprise. Regarding Maye I would rather watch him than Biscuit one is a unknown *Maye* the other is known *Biscuit* I'm going with unknown and hope they do too.
