Wouldn't say it's drinking any kinda kool-aid. I mean let's be realistic. It's not like Miami and the Jete suddenly turned into the Chiefs. New England finished with around the same record as both teams (plus or minus one game of each) in 2022. Miami hasn't done much and has major question marks this year with health. The Jete add a QB but that comes with its own question marks. New England is making and will continue to make improvements of their own. Have a hard time seeing how New England is far below these two teams. Buffalo is above them but seems likely to backslide a bit this season.

Let's face it. Every year at this time, people make predictions about teams that are way off base. Why is your prediction any worse?

Last year at this time, people were talking about Denver, Las Vegas, Arizona, Green Bay, the Rams, and others as being legitimate Super Bowl contenders while people figured teams like Seattle would be bottom dwellers.

You made some legitimate points about the Patriots' division rivals whether or not you might be taking more optimistic takes or not.

Did you look at their schedule? It's a 8 or 9 win schedule, about same as the Pats but we have a better coach so there's that.
And your take is based off what? A good Draft? Hopefully.

Ok and what if all three Teams have good Drafts? Wouldn't that put us further behind hmmmm?

But why would we assume that's going to happen? Why are we penciling in a bad Patriots draft and good drafts for the other three teams? Right now the draft is a big unknown. Then there will also be post draft signings, trades, camp injuries, cut down signings, etc. All we have to judge by right now is the roster as of April 25. It makes no sense to base a prediction today based on events that haven't happened yet.

Interesting suggestion that the Packers wanted pick #13 to get a better shot at a WR:

Frankly, I hope this means a blue chip OT falls to us.
Who do they like JSN/ Flowers?? I mean they double dipped and hit on two last year Watson and Doubs I'm not buying it.

Talent wise especially on Offense we are not as good as the other Teams. Maybe we hit on a decent WR or two in this Draft that's the hope: that said we are really paltry talent wise on O we ain't keeping DC's up at night.

Is this the first time a Third place Team is hosting the SB Champs and runner up?? I know anything can happen but that's still very Tough.

The 3rd place Falcons were on the road last season vs the AFC Champion Bengals and Super Bowl Champion Rams.

At least we get to host the Eagles and Chiefs, assuming one of those games is not in Germany.

11 pages without this gem? What's wrong with you people? I'm just kidding - it's a little early for me to be drinking...

Also, Pats almost beat this guy last year on the road with a deer in headlights 1st time ever playing QB, and I should be worried? (Yes I know I probably should but Patty's gone, so it's a wash.)

Regardless of any success he will likely have vs the NEP, FRaudgers will be checked-out from Exit-16W by Christmas.
The change may reinvigorate Rodgers who checked out on the 2022 season because he clearly didn't believe in the team (some - not me - may compare it to Brady in 2019). The Jets defense was really good last season, and they have some nice pieces on offense, they just eventually collapsed under the weight of their inept quarterback play. Rodgers changes that scenario completely. They could contend for the division but they should at least make it into the playoffs.

I am fully on record saying that Rodgers to the Jets has a solid chance of imploding spectacularly. They also don't really need to do anything cap-wise outside of having an owner willing to pay real dollars. The cap is crap and this fanbase has been brainwashed into thinking the cap is this resolute uncompromising beast that will get you if you don't keep it at bay. Here you go. $44 million in cap space and Rodgers has been a Jet for about 30 seconds.
They didn't 'create' $44M of cap space as Rappaport says, they pushed it into future years. Eventually that does catch up with you, especially if you sign older players that age out therefore you can't/won't resign them so you can't push the money further out. Examples are our Cam Newton year and the Bucs and the Rams this year. At least the Bucs didn't have to give up draft capital for an aging player, but Brady retired so there's no more pushing his money into the future. This could happen to da Jete as soon as next season if Rodgers comes out of the cave next off season and decides to retire. The Rams have always favored vets over rookies but now those aging players are declining so either they keep overpaying them on the roster or cut them and take the accelerated salary cap hit. IMO Da Jete are setting themselves up for a sharp decline in the future by giving up both cap and draft capital to get an aging QB.

Now, imagine a different world where Da Jete take a competent rookie QB two years ago instead of Milfson. Gee, there was this guy right there on the draft board who had just won the National Championship and was viewed as a NFL-ready QB. Plug him in and you have a starting QB with five years of control at below-market rates. Nope, they swung for the fences and trusted their ability to develop players and took the guy from the small school whose career highlight has been winning the Boca Raton Bowl and sleeping with his mom's best friend. Now they think they're going to plug in the aging ayahusca enthusiast and cave dweller used to the scrutiny of the Milwaukee media into their dysfunctional setup in NYC and it's all going to be fine.

I think it's fair to say as of today on paper we are the worst team in the division. That's on paper and before the draft however. There is still time to change things so we need to hit on the draft pretty well.

With that said, Rodgers might very well be on decline so we'll see.

Eventually you pay the piper to some extent but a lot of it happens organically to some extent. You sign a big name QB to big money and keep kicking the can down the road until that QB ages out or leaves then you reset the roster with a young cheap QB and jettison off some of your other high priced guys. If a team really wants to keep a player they will find a way to do it. There aren't really many players teams truly wanted to keep at a specific salary that they just couldn't keep because of the cap. "Cap casualties" are usually guys that wouldn't take a pay cut or guys who a team deemed as overpaid based on their level of production. My whole thing with the cap is there are so many ways to maneuver around it for so long that while you have a good QB in his prime the cap really isn't a factor. It is only a factor when you move on from that QB and at that point you just slash down the roster and start the rebuilding with young cheap guys. The amount of time teams can kick the can gets longer and longer with the way the cap keeps increasing.

1. Josh Allen
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Tua Tagovailoa
4. Mac Jones

Is there any other way to see it?
Eh. Mac Jones will probably be in this league longer than Tua. I'm not Mac's number one fan by any stretch but Tua isn't reliable. Rodgers is better than Mac but he probably won't even be a NFL caliber qb within a year or two.

I don't care whose career is longer. Tua is better than Mac right now. As far as being better than Rodgers in two years Mac is probably on a new team.

All I know is this will be Mac's prove it year. If he flames out then we need to move on.

Great minds think alike I was thinking about giving him the same response.

Newsflash Tua is still undefeated against the BB Patriots.
