Barmore is disproportionately impacted by Williams being out and Landry/Chaisson falling apart fast, and Tonga seeming to be playing through injury.

There just isn’t anyone besides Barmore offenses have to worry about.

Him with Williams back will help.

I have no idea what to do about Landry and Chaisson at this point in the season.

Tommy is knew this would get your attention.. LOL I didn't say that dissing Barmore I've moved past that.. all I was doing is criticizing his impact on the line.. of course he's a good player and I WANT him to be here and get back into form..

Like gonzo it's a new defense for him and sometimes it's takes a whole season to really get comfortable in it. So even with Barmore we can add another player there.. your take?

Chris Jones lost me when he showed up in the stands with his agent amid a contract dispute.. at the game.. as a fan...
If we had scored at TD in the last 2 minutes against BUF, Barmore and Gonzo would be considered among our four star defensive players now and into the future.

Year 1 has secured a fine top 5 DL in Barmore, Williams, Tonga with Durden and Farmer backing them up. We will always be looking for upgrades, but I don't see improving the DL as being one of our top 10 priorities for 2026.

Agreed. Not to get ahead of myself here but.. for all things considered Vrabel and the coaches have done a great Job maximizing the roster especially on defense.. however along with Barmore and Williams we stand to add on every level..

We can start with this guy...

There is literally nothing you can do. Or anyone else for that matter.

fine addition

Everybody should have a wish list for players who they think would be major additions and who we think will sign for us for reasonable contracts instead signing for other teams, including their current team.

We should have pulled the trigger on Jaelan Phillips.
It would have helped but only if they want to pay him long term. No short term rentals at this point in the rebuild.

We have the most cap available. The Eagles are probably going to sign him to an extension since he's delivered a solid performance for them.

Nope. No chance.

As we've seen, year after year, only the teams with the best offense, defense, and special teams win. In the history of the NFL there's never been a team who won the Super Bowl who wasn't clearly the best at everything all the time from game 1 of the regular season until the Super Bowl.

Definitely you should just give up now.

In retrospect, more moves should have been made at the deadline to improve the defense. The league is wide open and more parity than ever. That is not going to happen again next year.

Just because the expectations were low at the beginning of the year doesn't mean there can't be high expectations now.

In retrospect, more moves should have been made at the deadline. There was/is no "unbeatable monster" in the league compared to the last few years (07 Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles etc). Every team has a glaring weakness somewhere.

Next year there will be an elite team(s) again. The Patriots might be better team and end up with a worse record. The schedule is brutal. Maye will likely be paid 65 million per year after next year.

The Patriots won't win a SB this year because of the defense. I think they are what they are at this point. Very average to good. It will take an all-time playoff run by Maye. And I don't think there is enough legit great receivers to get open and make plays vs the Broncos/Texans of the world.
As Chris Berman use to say: "that's why they play the games". Let's not concede anything yet a lot can between and then.

Not conceiding. But the lack of pass rush, issues vs running QB's and Sunday vs the Bills are a red flag.

I get it but sometimes you're gonna have to win a shootout. Even some of our play calling was suspect on Sunday: our Coaches wasn't very sharp situational Football wise. I am sure they're a few series they would love to have back. Remember even after all the Red Flags: Maye had a chance to win it winning covers a lot.

During the offseason this is the version of Barmore fans were expecting.. now as I've mentioned in my conversations with TommyD4207 and TheRainMaker.. who are exceptional posters as well as yourself UGA.. Barmore has absolutely become unbenefited by Williams absence.

We initially had a defensive line of

Keon white, Barmore, Tonga, Williams, farmer.

Had Keon white remained and was bought in from the start he would have been a factor to help offset the loss of Williams and allow Barmore more one on one opportunities. Durden is a nice rotational player as is farmer however as you mentioned teams don't have to account for them.

Landry probably retires in the offseason Chaisson will resign and we be a rotational pass rusher going forward

The pass rush stands to be significantly improved as Vrabel needs another offseason and draft to really beef up the defense.

Once we can add on the front seven then we will see more of this version of Barmore.

Also twin.. we have to take into account all the teams in the AFC to make the post season have one commonality.. they all have playoff experience.. this patiots team doesn't have that thanks to 4-13 seasons..

So there's no easy opponents.. if it's Houston we draw so be it. Drake needs to get playoffs experience..

I agree but he has been a bit underwhelming. I am glad we saved the draft pick and can still take a shot in FA.

Every time I've watched the Eagles since they got him he's been disruptive.

He has 27 pressures, 10 QB hits, a sack and three tackles for loss in six games with the Eagles.
Is it possible he is benefiting from better players getting more attention?

The Eagles third or fourth best player on D would probably be the best D on the Patriots.

1 sack in 6 games = 3 sacks for one season. Posters are complaining about Pats EDGE rushers with 8.5 sacks (Landry) so far this year. Phillips is nothing special, maybe above average?
