Indystar posters obsessed with Patriots

Sorry to go off topic here. I was surfing the net, and I came across the indystar website. There is a pretty large colts forum on that site. I was reading the posts and a ton of them are about the patriots. They all consist of delusional colts fans bashing the pats, then spazing out when a pats fan makes a rational argument, telling them to "go to there own forum". The funny part is, none of the pats threads are ever started by pats fans. Always colts fans who spend the whole time obsessing over every move we make. Haha, most of em dont even know what they are talking about with contract numbers and moves we make. They dont seem to know much about football ,or how players get paid ( gauranteed money etc etc )

Lol, we are not in there heads at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it like that on every colts board? They win one sb out of the last 6 and they all the sudden think they are some kind of force? They act like we dont have 3 rings to there 1. I never really see any indy themed posts on here, or on other pats forums. Looks like they are pretty obsessed with the patriots over there.

The Chargers thread made me go take a look at other forums. While the chargers fans are totally delusional ( most became fans last year) I expected more from the colts fans.
Who's obsessed here?
Please refer to the thread titled "we are famous" on the IndyStar message board. It's right on the front page for your convenience. Thank you and goodnight.

Must be tough to finally win a SB and still be behind the Patriots in everyone's eyes, including your. No respect, no self-respect, tsk tsk.

Please tell me you took the time to register, and respond to my post. Dont get mad at a legit observation. Last time I was on that board (about a week ago) there where far more pats threads then colts threads. most the threads where filled with inaccurate contract information. Ignorant posts, and unfair comparisons. Take a look at this main board. See many colts threads?

Just the obligatory "Polian sucks" threads, but then every website has those.

To be honest most of the Pats' threads were because of the amount of moves they have been making. It seemed close to all other teams combined. So naturally the topic of conversation will be what's going on at that moment. Just like all the Colts' threads around here prior to and after the Super Bowl.

Seems like a natural topic to me as well. Funny, but now that the Colts have won a SB the "rivalry" isn't the same for me. It was amusing to see how a team and its fans that had never won anything (in recent history)were always trying to convince themselves that they were "winners"

Well, Polian may have mortgaged the future to a degree, limiting the amount of off season improvements possible compared to the Patriots, but everyone has to admit it was worth it to win a SB.

So to me, with the monkey off their back, the Colts are just another team, contenders for the SB to be sure, but not quite at the same level as the Pats.

Thanks to a strong organization and highly respected coach, the Pats have 3 SBs in 6 years and look like they are reloading for another 3 in the next 6 years too. Are the Colts jealous of this? Probably a bit - but let's not kid ourselves - they just won the SB - hopefully most of the fans are still basking in that and not obsessed with what the Pats are doing. Quite funny if that's really happening, but I tend to doubt it.

The Bears fans on dabearz.com would make Chargers fans look like an MIT metaphysics professor.

I think it's funny how they just win a superbowl, beating their rival in the AFC championship, and they are still *****ing like WE won. If I were them, the only thing I would have to say is "AFC Championship" not "Adalius Thomas, Wes Welker, blah blah blah, overpaid."

Funny right? If I am correct, we had about 28.5 million bucks to spend this year in total. They were running around re structuring the cleaning staff trying to get an extra 20 bucks to add the the 5 bucks in cap space they have.

Patriots 3 suberbowls - 29 million in cap space

Colts 1 superbowl - Cap suicide

To be honest the Pats had $29 million in caps space two years removed from being Super Bowl champs. The Colts aren't at cap suicide they are just pushed up against the cap until they sign Freeney. I think they are somewhere around $12 million below the cap. Freeney gets something like $8.3 million with the tag, that number will be lower if they work out a long term deal.

What's your point? Both the colts and the pats did not go deep in the playoffs in 05. The patriots are coming off an afc championship game apperance. We were one first down away from another superbowl. If the pats had gone on to win another superbowl ,we still would have had 29 million in cap space this season. You played one more game then us this year, which was the superbowl.

One first down away? Heck, if Marlon McCree just knocks the ball down or goes to the ground after his pick, the Pats don't go to the AFC Champioship game. So it's kind of hard to argue hypotheticals.

BTW would you swap that cap space for the Pats being 2006 Super Bowl Champions?

And the Colts don't go to the Super Bowl - don't tease us like that.

You are missing the point. If we had won the afc championship game and moved on to the superbowl, we would still have 29million in cap space this year. I dont we would not have to trade any money to win. Like I said, it took the colts six years and cap suicide to win one. Your cap situation is not good no matter how you spin it.Lets see how the next few years play out for the mighty colts. I find it funny colts fans ignore the six years of brutal failure since they won one this year, thats all.

Funny coming from a colts fan right? They dont score any offensive points against the ravens, aside from Adam kicking field goals. Neither of there first opponents even showed up to play on offense.

The Chargers would have slaughtered the Colts. I sort of wish we had lost that game to San Diego.
