How should Judge Berman be celebrated for choosing the side of justice?

  • The Patriots should devote a statue of him outside Gillete Stadium

  • Kraft should give him season-tickets for life

  • Berman should never have to pay for a drink or a meal in New England ever again

  • Berman should be nominated for the Supreme Court

  • A street or boulevard should be named after him!

  • Other (specify)

So Pats fans, what does Judge Berman deserve for his heroics today?

What do you mean?
Brady was railroaded for something he didn't do, and treated like a political prisoner when fighting it.
The judge simply did what he is supposed to do, and stop an insane, biased, unfounded, ignorant and moronic event.
It's not like he did anyone a favor, he did his job properly.

Your post sounds like Brady was guilty but pardoned.

Other. The only choice for me is that the Pats dedicate the Super Bowl #50 trophy to him when they raise it in San Francisco in February...

Yeah I hated Zolak's post about him being an American Hero for the same reason. The dude is a judge that deserves recognition for maintaining his integrity and doing his job well. He didn't do us a favor- he did the correct thing.

It's offensive people think he did something for us. It just plays into that "Brady did it but it doesn't matter" mentality

Never ever showing up in his courtroom again!!

In defense of the OP, I think the tone of the thread is supposed to be a bit lighter. After all, none of those choices is going to happen...

you can't give gifts to a federal judge. are you kidding?

The Judge Berman ruling is really very similar to the ruling that the greatest referee to ever put on the stripes made in 2001. Both Judge Berman and Walt Coleman DID THEIR JOB. Plain and simple.

It would make more sense to discuss what kind of recognition Kessler deserves and not the judge. He maneuvered a delicate case very smoothly. I remember how some people here had their pitchforks all ready after the first court hearing.

I think any of those options would offend him, like he did a favor instead of a honest job.

A Thank You is enough, like the NFLPA did.

Anything more than a thank you seems like a bribe.

Reverse my vasectomy, have another son, and name him L'il Bernie?

Just spitballing here.

This. Anything else would offend a man of his obvious integrity.

Gee, calm down. This thread is just supposed to be for fun.

Berman was just doing his job.

Agreed. He deserves what Belichick gives one of his players after a good game: acknowledgment that he did his job and maybe a "thank you," but no smile, just "thank you."

I think we need to look at Berman's decision in context. Brady and the Patriots have been railroaded at every step of the process by people who were supposed to be "neutral." It's shocking to see someone actually act in a neutral and well-reasoned manner, so people are getting a little over-excited. That being said, he should never have to pay for another drink in New England again (or if I see him out in NYC, where I currently live).
