I don't see IR but he will at least miss several games and along with limited workouts all throughout the spring and summer because of the injury and lockout, one would have to say at best this season Manning will not be anywhere near 100% himself

......and not at his normal elite self,it opens up the doors for other teams to pounce on the opportunity to beat the AFC South bullies just like the other teams aimed for in NE in 2008

You know that is easy to win a MVP with that BS of ''wow, he was hurt on the neck ''

Its not true

I can’t help but feel all of this is just a marketing ploy for Peyton Manning’s nationwide chain of neck surgery clinics.

where does his current neck injury originate from?

which team hurt him?

I believe it's just from it having to support that gigantic noggin.

Peytie has his consecutive start streak weighing heavily on him...it's very very important that HE keep HIS streak intact...the ad revenue possibilities post career could be staggering...imagine...the Energizer Bunny being sh!tcanned for Durapeyton, the duracell destroyer...and then there's the 48 hour continuous pain reliever commercial possibilities...

...hi, it's me...Peyton...you know, I've had a pain in my neck for years that just won't go away...won't go away that is until NOW...I just take two Oxyperms (with real imitation oxycodone) and watch that pain just melt away...like the dreams of a second Super Bowl win...

....or how about Ezy-Straw?....

yup...me again...if you have a stiff neck like I do and find it frustrating trying to drink a glass of water, you need Ezy-Straw...it's flexible neoprene and moldable plastic stem will give you a lifetime of easy liquid refreshment from ANY position of your neck and spine...look, here I am in upside down traction with rigid steel bolts drilled into my skull...see that?...like I was back on the field sucking down Gatorade and sulking on the sideline...AND, for the first 100 callers to 1-800- MOONHEAD, you'll also get a free Ezy-Swatter....perfect for swatting those pesky flies off your forehead...believe me, Peyton Manning, this is one item you will be GLAD you own....so don't delay, call NOW...and tell 'em Peytie sent ya'...

UPDATE: 10:25 p.m. EST, via Adam Schefter's Twitter feed: "Peyton Manning is being revaluated by several doctors bc of slow progress. No other procedure planned now."

Also Polian says "I don't know anything", that is true and I don't think it just applies to the Peyton situation.

As much as I want to wash my mouth out with soap for saying this, Peyton Manning is a great QB.

This is something I will never understand about some football fans. Is it really that hard to admit that a rival is a good player?

The sport of football is worse off without Peyton Manning, for all of us who love watching great players play great football.

There is nothing enjoyable about watching any team, including the Pats, beat a backup or mediocre QB into submission, from my perspective.

Or even less enjoyable, that backup qb looking like Peyton Manning only against us.

Sincerely hope Peyton's not out of the season. As much as I get my kicks out of his failings in big spots, he's a class act on and off the field and just a joy to watch in general. If he is indeed IR'd, hope his recovery goes well, since a severe, lingering, neck injury can pretty much end his career at this point.

mmm. I said he was a great QB. Is it really that hard to read what I said? You may now step down from your high horse.

I've never liked Peyton's sulking and finger pointing. Is that OK?

I don't think it really changes my point, nor was I indicting you personally. Skim the thread and note some of the negativity towards Manning, and something that might be mistaken for glee at the misfortune of Manning and/or the Colts.

I don't care how anyone wants to root for their team or against another, but that doesn't make it easier to understand the mentality behind wanting to watch a ****ty football game.

Hope to see Peyton back on the field throwing pick-sixes by October.

He is just trying to be the hurt HERO. He is favreish

No chance in hell he misses a single game
That's how Rapistberger operates. Manning throws his teammates under the bus when he loses.

I see a lot more positive sentiments than negative stuff. There is some of the latter, for sure, but that's kind of inevitable. The fact that it's the minority is good enough for me; it sure as hell wouldn't be on a lot of other teams' forums if it was Brady.
