I'm Finally Convinced: This is Brady's Last Year in New England

Air Yards Per Attempt: Distance ball travels in air to target or intended target.

Brady 29th in this category
Last year 24th

In other words: the NE passing attack should have a very high completion rate especially given Brady’s propensity to seek RB pass catchers at the LOS.
Yet he’s at 60%

High % quick strike offense: 60%

Questions: Why hasn’t BB surrounded Brady with outside $$$ talent over the years?
Answer: He has played to the strengths of his QB: high %, over the middle short passes requiring quick decision making .

And when that doesn’t work anymore?

Fortify D, the emphasize special teams, build a running game

Conclusion: Mutual separation

Like whom? See that's the thing. When healthy,I don't see anyone available better than him.

I'd rather have Tom back on a 1yr deal
You’re not looking for someone better than him. You’re looking for a capable, long-term QB whether or not he’s better than Brady because Brady is a (very) short-timer at this point.

Here’s the thing from my POV — I think Brady has a year left, two at most (he can talk about playing to 45 or 47 or whatever all he wants, but I don’t think he’ll make it). So IF when March rolls around someone comes available who you think can be a capable long-term starter you sign him UNLESS you think you can get someone of a similar quality a year later and trust Brady will hold up physically, etc. for one more year.

Agree. At the end of the day I think the NFL is a year -to-year business. Teams need to win now. Bill thinks the same way and hes fortunate he has an owner who also believes long term planning is incredibly important to sustained-winning. If BB thinks he has a SB contender in 2020 and the question is QB, he will absolutely ensure he has the best possible QB starting. If that is Tom on a 1yr deal over a younger, not-quite-as-good QB who would be here for 5 years, it will be Tom.

I honestly think he’s either done or at least done here.

certainly possible........at least gronk picked the perfect time to get the hell out.....this was his last play

Totally unrelated (???) but his pressers (during the week and after games) are painful to watch now. They seem labored.

I wouldn’t get rid of him just to get rid of him, but if, say, a decent replacement was available then yes, I probably would. Even if Brady was better than the replacement that is outweighed by getting N years from the replacement vs only 1 year (2 max) from Brady.

Aha!
Now we know for certain that Bill (Cut his own mother) Belichick has been posting here as QM!

Yes, he isn’t having much fun it seems. If he goes somewhere he feels is making the game fun again, he might try that. I don’t want that but I feel he’s earned the right to play elsewhere

Yea. I want to be be careful about the "fun" question but it does seem like his morale is low. I've been assuming its because he isn't performing at the level he expected/hoped.

That, and because his TEs are Easily the Worst in the Entire league, he has no Beast at RB who can gain 3 yards on 3rd/4th - and 2, his only dependable WR is broken-down while the others are merely under-talented Passengers, and his OL has been decimated & mismanaged.

If your trying to cheer me up...it’s not working

He forgot the running game though

Or that his offense isn't performing up to capabilities. It seems like he's a bit depressed after the game, and then as the week progresses he's his old self again. You can tell by seeing what he posts on instagram.

Those Instagram posts are after Gisele slaps him saying, "Snap out of it!" like Cher slapped Nick Cage in Moonstruck

His presser yesterday was like he was a zombie.

I think Brady is gone this year I don't know if it's going to be retirement or him moving to another team.

I'm leaning towards him moving to another team at this point to give it one more run though.

Brady will never play anywhere else, Mr. Kraft knows who helped him build his empire and #12 will forever be associated with this franchise in one way or another...
