I feel bad for Bill. Has he lost it? Sure looks like it some of the time. I ask myself why he is still coaching. If it isn't for the love of it then it isn't the right reason.
He still love football. It's all he knows. He's just surrounded himself with people who don't challenge him.

Sometimes I wonder if he is just coaching to get the record. I do feel for him that the longer he goes with mediocre teams that the false narrative that he would have been a mediocre head coach without Brady will become his legacy for a large portion of fans. And if that happens, what good is getting the record especially if it takes him three or four more years of around .500 records or worse to pass Shula?

Narratives aren’t false when supported by overwhelming and comprehensive evidence. Also he is not mediocre. He is much worse than that without Brady.

Well based on record technically he is a mediocre head coach without Brady… doesn’t mean his record with Brady doesn’t count but that’s what his record without Brady says. BB needed Brady to get to where he is. Brady was the guy that fed BB perspective on offense and BB the same to Brady for defense. I’m sure he won’t have that same kind of partnership with Mac…

Yes they are because the Pats don’t win those first three Super Bowls without Belichick. It is impossible to argue otherwise.

Joe Gibbs and maybe Coughlin are the only head coaches in NFL history who has won multiple Super Bowls without elite or near elite QB talent. Most of the best head coaches in history had HOF QBs.

How many logical errors can you combine in one brief post? Doesn’t even make any sense and has nothing to do with the point you were attempting to (and failing) to make.

Bill is now coaching his 10th season without Brady.

The Pats dont win with Bledsoe either and Corky Mac is the snowflake version of him.

Brady wasn’t Brady in the first dynasty. The simple fact is that Belichick could have won the Super Bowl in 2001 with probably five or six of the top QBs of the time. Brady was more of a game manager that year.

In 2003, the defense carried the team most of the season including three games with scoring shut outs. Without Belichick and the defense, the Pats would have had the #1 seed or even a bye.

In 2004, the Pats lost both their starting CBs early in the season and Belichick worked his magic to make the secondary strong with an endless rotation of JAGs and Troy Brown.

why is this a false narrative? Bill Belichick is a mediocre (I would say worse than mediocre) Coach without Brady is a very true narrative. I posted his record without Brady somewhere else here, but I forgot to add the 2000 5-11 record to his very underwhelming Record from his Cleveland days, the post Brady days with the Patriots, the 2016 Brady suspension games, and the Cassel year. Want to know what Bill the Coach's record is? 82-91. Do you think that's a good record? that's more than TEN 16 game seasons worth of football and he's has a 0.480 winning percentage.
You know what other coaches are around that Bill Belichick 48% winning percentage? Coaching luminaries like Lovie Smith (.479), Rex Ryan (.480), Norv Turner (.483), Dave Wannstedt (.485) inhabit Bill the Coach's rarified air and his 48% winning percentage in games without the guy **** Rehbein picked in the 2000 draft.

Parcells. Billick.
Also some one-offs. Gruden. Kubiak (Peyton wasn’t elite anymore). Pederson.

Doesn’t happen often but it happens. But I was only talking about Bill’s W-L record without Brady. It doesn’t mean Bill is a crap coach or his W-L record WITH Brady doesn’t count but it does show what Bill is missing. He is a master of defense but not so much of offense. In today’s game it’s better to be a master of offense IMO

Bledsoe sucked in the Pats’ offense, but there were a number of QBs in 2001 in the league that Belichick could have won the Super Bowl with.
Bledsoe sucked in the Bills offense and Cowboys offense too because Bledsoe sucked. The same scapegoats like OC, OL and WRs were the reasons for his losing. What a joke for the Bills to honor him as some sort of Legend.

M Jones sucks and firing BB will not fix him.

It is a false narrative. It is ignores the facts. There is no way the Pats win the Super Bowl in 2001 without Belichick's defensive game plan. To say that Belichick didn't play a huge role in the Super Bowl winning season especially in the first dynasty is just hating on the guy.

And as for his record without Brady, look at the QBs he had without Brady. It isn't like he had a say Justin Herbert quality QB.

I think it is ironic that some of the same people who say Mac Jones sucks and isn't a starting quality QB also say Belichick is a mediocre head coach and a product of Brady because look at his record with Mac Jones.

You brought up Belichick without Brady as the topic and continue to cite his success with Brady, despite being corrected twice. Ian should charge you for bandwidth.

Bledsoe did not suck. He was just a player out of time. He was a classic seven step drop and huck the ball down the field type of QB that was starting to become obsolete because of the speed of the game. He was a top QB in the late 90s.

BTW, you do realized that Bledsoe was honored by the Bills yesterday for his time there. I don't think they are having a Tyrod Taylor or EJ Manuel Day anytime soon. So the Bills thought Bledsoe was at least somewhat ok.

Making a decision tonight is bad business, let's see how next week plays out. We're all pissed at the showing tonight but let's see what next week brings. RK won't make any rash decision, he never has and has made him a billionaire, but the thought has to have crept into his mind that it might be time to let Bill go.
How about move on from Mac Jones?
