He's never won before, but seeing how everyone hates him, do you think he would get snubbed?

the media tells people not to like him, so no.

He won't win it because despite the fact any knowledgeable fan knows that this season has absolutely not been affected by any sideline taping stuff the media and dimwit sports radio callers will see it as rewarding a coach for 'cheating'.

more fuel for next year if he doesn't

He won in 2003. **** Jauron won in 2001, which shows what a joke the thing is.

Jim Haslett?

We all know he deserves it already... but does it really matter?

Agree 100%. But I can just imagine what the outcry would be outside of NE if he did get it. It’s not going to happen. The last thing the media wants BB is to be a Coach of the Year. They like the way it is. Portraying him as a cheater and a bad guy is more valuable to them then as a man who works hard and is best at what he does. Getting into other teams heads and totally annihilating them.

I can’t even imagine the outcry when BB is initiated into the Hall of Fame.

To me BB is the mad professor from Transylvania 6-5000.

That would be quite difficult to rationalize by the media, either way.

He's a cheater, but he just had the ultimate season. How can they explain it either way, getting the coach of the year or not.

For all of you saying he can't win because he got caught, look at Shawne Merriman last year!

BB probably won't win because the media hates him, but I wanted to point out what getting caught has to do with it (little imo).

The ultimate slap in the face would be if he DIDN'T win it. I would be happy for TB to win MVP, but what a hoot it would be to snub BB.

The Pats could go undefeated and win the SB and he still wouldn't get it. But I suspect he cares far less about it than most of us fans.

The only reason I think he has a chance is that slowly the overall fanbase is beginning to recognize that spygate was overblown. The further we get from that dreadful day in September, the more people will realize that stealing signals is not cheating or even proscribed by the NFL. With the dawning of that realization there will come a reciprocal appreciation that the penalty was too heavy (although no-one will support restitution as 2 1st round picks would only make the Pats even better).

BB has had to overcome the opprobium of some of his peers, the public censure/disowning of his actions by his boss, the calumny of the mediots and the hatred of the uninformed football fans. He has used the ultimate insult to fire up one of the most effective and efficient teams ever.

I realize that some will never vote for him, but casting an eye around the rest of the league, none have come close to what BB has achieved this year. Its only a question of how long it takes for the unjust reputation to fade. I also think that the extremists (Easterbroken-record etc.) painting the Pats as the evil dark force actually help highlight the ludicrous complaints of the mediots, and that helps the objective and rational football fan see things more fairly.

I think Scott Linehan should get it.

The rams haven't run up the score on anyone!

He won't win it this year, IMO and I don't think it really matters to him. Super Bowl rings > coach of the year awards to him.

Mike McCarthy is probably on the top of the list for coach of the year. Who thought the Packers would be 6-1 at this point in the season?

Terry

Going undefeated is something on a whole new level (has been done just once) that I think BB would win if he did that...But if they go 15-1, probably not.
