If the Patriots would of made the playoffs in 2002

I'm just saying that its silly to dwell on you're past. There certainly the type of team to be chomping at the bit once they're anger is peaked.
This is getting to be to much. Maybe we should talk about the wide receiver core -- their something I no about.

I think you mean would "of", could "of", should "of"...
Seriously? First of all, it's "could've, would've, and should've" to be grammatically correct and I know the proper usage. This is a message board to discuss NEP football and it is written in context to the way people in New England would most likely say it. It's not like I'm not submitting a thesis for my Phd. in English ya' know.

It depends on how homefield shook out.

If the Pats won the AFCE and hosted Indy, they probably would have pasted the Colts. That was back before Peyton Manning was capable of beating Belichick/Brady.

If the Pats won the wild card (knocking out Cleveland most likely) and traveled to Pittsburgh, they would have been trounced.

A divisional game at Oakland or Tennessee would not have been pretty.

It just wasn't a good enough team to do anything. In 2001, Belichick gambled on a lot of older players past their prime and it paid off. Unfortunately, many of their shelf lives were only for that season.

Yes, seriously. Honestly, not trying to bust your balls. I generally enjoy your posts. We all make errors, typos, etc., It's just that most of us have our "things" that bug us and "of" instead of "have" is one of mine. No insult intended.

I like to think of it as the bridge year to true greatness. They pulled off a huge upset in 2001 and probably chalked it up to exactly that. I like to think that after 2002, they all sat around at the end of the season realizing how good they really were. Bedsides, that Tampa defense was pretty tough.

Hmmm...

...four sum guise, theirs allot of meet hear two choo wan.

You do realize that it was written in jest and technically, it's not "could of" , but "could've" or "could have" and why do I even give a crap? Ugh....

I think their is a problem with a number of people usage of the English language on this bored.

They wouldn't have gotten Ty Warren at 13 since they'd have been picking in the 20's. And not having Ty Warren means no bookend to Seymour in the 3-4 for 2003 -2008. And, in all likelyhood, no ring in 2003 and 2004..

Not sure about Ty making the difference in 03 but when Sey was out in 04 and playing on one leg Ty really stepped up.

No offense, but you're totally missing Jackson's original joke..

Steve Martin would uvvv been MVP!

Oh the trifecta that season of Ricky Williams, Priest Homes and Ladanian Tomlinson. Back to back to back. After those 3 consecutive games of giving up 700+ yards on the ground it didn't take a rocket scientist like MP to figure out that team wasn't going far.

Still amazed they lost the division in a 3 way tie. Not much bragging rights there. Wouldn't really call it convincing fashion.
