How Many Games Do Wolf And Mayo Want To Win?

Bill went 5-11 his first season here and his hiring turned out okay.
And Pioli said in "The Dynasty" that he feared Bob was going to fire the entire coaching staff/FO had Brady flamed out. Bob also said that Bill "better make it work" as Bob wanted Bill to win with Bledsoe. Bob has shown to have little patience and wants to take it out on someone when he either looks bad or makes poor decisions.

Also, the difference between Bill and Jerod is that Bill was a HC before and one of the best/most respected DC's in the league. What has Mayo done? If he ends with a 4 win or less record, people will absolutely start calling for his exit.

Mayo has 2 years to prove himself, even if they only win 4 games in 24

He is on a short leash for sure

Like Mahomes or Brady when they sat for a year?
No. They weren't the 3rd pick in the draft.

You do realize that plenty of great QBs started right away, don't you?

In 2022 with literally a pee wee football offense. We won 8 games. I like us to match or be even a game better.

Each year seems like we have " a tough schedule ".. this can be said for any NFL team. For example we got every teams best shot during the championship years.. we got challenged every week.

The challenges are more on the team it's self to not beat themselves. There is no team that's going to be able to do as they want against this defense with or without judon. The offense just needs to execute and sustain drives. To your point Bill had Drew a Pro Bowl QB who had been to a superbowl, and excellent defense to start his patriots tenure. And went 5-11.

Yes, yes, I understand all that, just unimpressed with how they've gone about it thus far. All the DEI/"please be patient"/"pardon our learning curve" crap got old pretty much out of the gate. Maye convincingly winning the job outright in training camp would lend some credibility.
Tune,

The time line was accelerated a year or 2 early becuase of how fast the team deteriorated.. no excuses just know facts.. the players were beating themselves, this coaching wasn't resonating, the QB play was horrible.

Wether or not fans agree the situation with Mayo was already etched in stone and okd by the NFL for him to succeed Bill and Bill vouched for Mayo!

So here we are. #3 pick, a great defense and just unknown right now. So me personally I'm embracing it all with the hopes the team looks watchable on offense.

That's right. Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith ,Rodgers behind Farve.. Drake has none of that. Drakes the best option for us to win.

All true but it's still a very tough schedule on paper for a team that finished last in their division. Like going on the road for some of their harder games like @SF and @Cin.

Would be nice to see them beat Tua for once.
Doesn't San Fran come here this year? Last time we played them at Gillette cam was skipping passes.

Want to win? All 20 obviously, cuz that would give them at least 5 years of job security. How many do they expect to win? Which is the question i think you meant to ask. I would expect somewhere between 6 and 9 wins there were so many injuries last year and so much behind the scenes disfunction. This defense is too good to lose every game on the schedule the way some are predicting. Honestly i dont even care about wins or losses THIS year, all i want to see is technically sound competitive football that has some promise of winning going forward.

What I want to see more than anything is fight. I want the entire team to play the way guys like Steve Smith played his entire career. Like winning that ball on that throw was the only thing that mattered. I want intensity first, then execution, because you can’t win execution battles if you are losing the physical battle. One of the best things about the Van Pelt hire is his dedication to the run game, because that allows the offensive line to take the fight to the defense, instead of taking the hits all day in pass blocking. The same thing goes for the defense, make opponents pay dearly for every yard they get. Be the nastiest defense in the league, the one no team wants to face. I don’t care nearly as much about their record this year as I do their demeanor. The wins can come later, get really nasty first.

Bill also added a lot of FAs who turned out great.

Either he has it or he doesn't and if Maye isn't the starter I'll be concerned.

Better question: What will the Patriots’ record be after this season vs the AFC East?

I think their record vs the AFCE will be higher than the current line, whatever that is.

Agreed here. He's the most talented QB on the roster. The only thing Brissett has over him is game time experience.
