How Disappointed Will You Be Starting 0-4 or 1-3?

To be a trap game, there has to be a game we are favore in that we could lose. Is there a game you think Vegas should favor the Patriots in on their schedule? The Cardinals and Titans are the only games I really think you could feel good about the Pats chances.

Granted if the team shows some competency, we could be the trap game for some other team
I heard on ESPN radio that we aren't a favorite in any single game this season! Wow! Shows just how bad last season was!

So you expect that those changes are supposed to make the team worse?
No, but I also dont expect to be a challenger for the AFCE. We did not expect the 2001 Pats to win the Super Bowl.

This has to play out and be the best season possible with the goal of each subsequent season being better.

After the departure of Judon, Barmore illness, Brissett starting, bunch of darts that didn’t stick at LT I’ve revised my expectations to 2-15 to 3-14 range. 40 million in cap space left and a ton more next year? Besides taking care of our own free agents, what did this team do to improve in free agency? Aside from Osbourn and Brissett it just seemed like a bunch of jags brought in that had no real chance to improve the roster.

If this team was ever serious about starting Maye they would of addressed LT in the draft or free agency. I’m not talking jag here, don’t even think I heard a peep about Tyron Smith. Maye ultimately won the QB battle competition yet is being spared as the sacrificial lamb for slaughter to this makeshift monstrosity. How does that happen? Your the best QB available yet you sit because the front office didn’t do their job. Are you telling me you would be mad that NE took 15 million of that 40 million, addressed the most glaring need on the offense and overpaid for an aging LT is who still very serviceable? Even if you get 13 or 14 weeks out of him, that’s great security and real in game experience for your franchise QB. Btw, that 40 million is still sitting there. No great June 1 st cuts, nothing special coming out of 53 cut downs.
I remember when fans were ripping the Colts for not spending to the cap.

Anyway, rant over, there’s always the chance the oline will improve and maybe Maye plays but tbh, I think Maye could of grown with this line, adjusted to the pressure accordingly and made the core better with experience. Without a serviceable LT though, it was too much of a risk I guess.

Defense even without Barmore and judon are still solid enough to keep games close. Offense just needs to be marginal at best and they will have a chance in every game.

Somehow I just don’t see that. Didn’t they surrender 15 sacks in practice vs Philly?Maye would decrease the sacks but would still take a lot of punishment. JB will be lucky to see week 4. He’s not very mobile and thats gonna be a problem.

4-0 or bust

I'm predicting a 1-16 season and the #1OA pick, so I'm ready for it.

I can understand. We aren't real optimistic about JB and how he can move the offense. But I back track to last season. We had a better O line, and still couldn't score.

I have a hard time believing they can beat the Bengals on the road in game 1. The Bengals OL is highly suspect and if Judon and Barmore were in the lineup I’d consider the Pats to have a shot, but alas …

I think they have a decent chance in game 2 at home against Seattle, it is not easy for west coast teams playing 1:00 PM games on the east coast. They are almost certainly the more talented and better overall team but are also coming in with a new head coach after a down year.

The next 4 games could be ugly. So I’m expecting 1-5.

After that who knows what the teams will be looking like but I could see the Pats winning a couple of those 5. The last 6 is anyone’s guess, but based on who and where they’d play I’d guess they could get a win or two there, such as at home against the Colts and Chargers.

Overall I’m expecting no more than 5 wins, and won’t be terribly disappointed to see them in position to draft their LT1, WR1, or impact player at pretty much any position.

I share season tickets with a family member and am certainly not thrilled to see them wallow in sub-mediocrity but this is what I think about their chances. For me it is far more important to see development of young players and indicators of good coaching than wins.

My glass will always be half full this season, although it could go up or down

I never like losing, but won't be disappointed, I am actually expecting it. This year I'd rather be honest with myself to avoid inflated expectations... will be here for the whole ride though...

Just had to lower my expectations, and am hunkering down for a long season...
Obviously I want the Patriots to win every game but realistically…..I’m expecting that they will be at about that record after 5-6 games…..extremely tough schedule

No, Brady amazingly never started worse than 0-1. 0-4 is really reserved for the very worst teams. The team has only started 0-4 7 times in its history - 1965, 1969, 1975, 1981, 1992, 1993, and 2000.
So, is this season back to the future?

I'm expecting a 3 to 4 win season and am fine with it. BB left the cupboard pretty damn bare and we need another draft with high draft picks. A franchise tackle would be nice. I'm looking forward to the season and shaking off the crap from the last few years of the BB regime and how wierd it all got. I love the guy but he lost his fastball years ago and here we are.
Just happy that football is back.

If they start 0-4 I'll be very disappointed.

Might wanna look that up my friend….
The idea that Brady started 0-4 "a few times" is what caught my attention.
