How Disappointed Will You Be Starting 0-4 or 1-3?

Starting 0-4 is fine. Going 0-17 isn’t. I think we started 0-4 a few times with Brady even so no biggie…

Can’t see how I’d be disappointed with the most likely scenario.

Brady had only one 4 game losing streak in his career. It came in 2002 after the Pats started 3-0.
I thought every girl & boy in Pats land could recite the legend of Tom F'n Brady

No, Brady amazingly never started worse than 0-1. 0-4 is really reserved for the very worst teams. The team has only started 0-4 7 times in its history - 1965, 1969, 1975, 1981, 1992, 1993, and 2000.

There are about 4 winnable games on the schedule total for the season. They have no shot weeks 1-4. Seattle will be a contender. Maybe if Rodgers blows his Achilles again? Niners and Cincy are top 5 in their conferences. 0-4 baby here we come!!

I’m interested in seeing how Mayo leads a losing team and how he controls the locker room.
This is not a good team now.
I’ll be rooting for them to win every game and will be fine with 0 and 4.

Im surprised no one seems upset that we are going into a season where that is the most likely scenario.

Well on 2nd thought ... will we have any trap game wins?

Personally, I'll be fine with us starting 0-4 or 1-3 In Bill used talk about as the extension of the preseason.

As we did for camp, we might consider what we would like to see when Brady comes to town to announce the MIA game, other no serious injuries. BTW, I think the PUP players plus Barmore and Mapu are allowed to start practicing before the MIA game.
=======================
I would like to see

1) no serious injuries

1) an OL that has started together for at least a couple of weeks. At minimum I would like to see 4 of the positions settled at least for awhile.

2) And yes, I would like to see Maye as QB by then.

3) I will be interested to see who is getting most reps as the 4th corner, and

4) how the new additions are working out
As long as the Jest screw up!
Think about the cheap tickets once again

They are just about guaranteed to lose their first 5 games, imo. I expect them to be winless going into the Tennessee game Week 9.

I think it's a forgone conclusion that we are expecting to be win less out the gate.

I agree with your list. I know injuries are a part of the game unfortunately. While I never wish anyone harm. The best thing for the 2024 patriots is if Brissett went down.

Drake will have to learn on the fly. Record does not even matter as you said all the other factors.

Why?

The Pats only have:

New Head Coach who never has held the position.
New coaching staff
New OC
New offensive scheme
New GM
New QB 1
New QB 2

3 of the most important positions of an NFL franchise have changed - GM,HC and QB.

So you expect that those changes are supposed to make the team worse?

The Jets game is the only one they have a real chance in for the first 4 weeks. And if Rodgers comes back anywhere close to prior form, we can probably right that one off too.

Frankly this season is going to be more like a glorified pre season of seeing who here is worth anything vs NFL quality competition and who we can build around.

To be a trap game, there has to be a game we are favore in that we could lose. Is there a game you think Vegas should favor the Patriots in on their schedule? The Cardinals and Titans are the only games I really think you could feel good about the Pats chances.

Granted if the team shows some competency, we could be the trap game for some other team

Of course I'll be disappointed, but not surprised or upset.
It seems most Pats fans are aware of the major rebuild, and expecting a very poor season.
I'm assuming a 1-6 start. (Getting a win against SEA or TEX is possible)
But that doesn't mean each loss won't be very disappointing.

There is hope in the middle 4 games - especially if they move to Maye for that stretch.
If Maye starts around Week 6 or 7, it's possible for him to go ~ 6-5, which would be a massively successful rookie year.
Remember, Bourne should be back by then, and Barmore could be back mid-season if all goes right.
