1.) Draft Matthews or Lewand at #4
2.) Draft best available WR at 26, unless a top CB falls (Take the CB if he falls)
3.) Trade with NE for #29 (NE gets #36 and #106)
4.) Draft best remaining QB at #29
5.) Draft best remaining ILB at #71
6.) Draft best remaining RB at #145

I don't think that CLE is that far away from wild card contention, especially if they can see some reasonable play at the position of QB. Drafting a QB would go a long way towards helping this cause, along with having Hoyer as a competitive backup/opening day starter. That could be done at either 26 or even 29 with your proposal.

I would hope that the price for trading out of the 1st round would be worth more than ONE 2nd and ONE 4th round pick, but that's just me. I would hope that we could do better myself. This may be the current market in a deep draft, however.

Basically, all CLE would be giving up is a 4th for swapping spots 7 picks away. A 3rd would be much better, but it's possible this is what this 2014 draft will dictate in terms of trade value. I'm unsure of the chart, but in a normal year, I'd hold off for a 3rd myself.

First of all i would almost certainly make that trade as they can get a really good player with that #106, and they should still be in the pocket for the guys the liked at #29 at #36.

Other than that the Browns could clearly get significantly better hitting on those picks. If they went

    #4) T. Lewan OT

    #26) B. Cooks WR

    #29) D. Carr QB

    #71 C. Jones ILB

    #145) D. Freeman RB

It would be one hell of a draft and go a long ways to making them a player in the North.

It's the Browns, from all their choices they will make the most stupid possible and draft in the top 8 again next year, even in a division falling into pieces.

Trying to understand WHY Browns should trade with us and not the teams a head of #26 - They have to "protect" the pick, by makeing sure other teams like Texans or Oakland aint jumping a head.

The cost for Pats to move up from 31 to 25 (6 spots) for Hightower in 2012 was a 4th rounder (126). I think Deus pegged the right value here based on that experience.

If Bridgewater or one of the other top QB's are still available, this scenario is very feasible.

Oakland is another good possibility as far as trading out of the first round. If they like derek Carr or another QB that had fallen, we can get their 2nd rounder #36 and a fourth.

I'd prefer a 2015 first, to give us ammo to jump into the top 10 in 2015 to get Tom's heir apparent after he wins us superbowl in 2014.

They could end up as the 3rd best team in the AFC if they do it right tonight:

    4. Sammy Watkins
    26. Teddy Bridgewater

    Or

    4. Johnny Manziel
    26. Marqise Lee

Drafting a RT at #4 is bad value IMO.

Without question St Louis and Cleveland should win this draft, if they do not it will highlight all that is wrong with their organizations.

    Cleveland could also just go.

    Mathews
    Bridgewater
    Allan Robinson
    RB

I think that would be a major win for them. The Oline the Browns would have, would have the potential to be the best in the NFL.

I wouldn't normally have gone with the OT there, because of Thomas. I could certainly see them go with Watkins instead of the tackle, and that's generally been my expectation for them. Having the abundance of picks, and my expectation that both Clowney and Mack will be gone in the first 3 picks, and the specific makeup of this draft class, is why I think it makes sense for them to double dip at tackle, especially in that division.

I admit that it's outside-the-box thinking. I'm of the opinion that the Browns could use a bit of that.

I agree that would be scary, adding Robinson or Matthews to team with Thomas, or Mack to team with Mingo is also scary. The Browns has a chance to take a huge step forward.

Don't forget the Browns have a top 5 TE as well in Cameron.

    WR1: Gordon
    WR2: Watkins
    slot WR: Hawkins
    TE: Cameron
    RB: Tate

It rivals the weapons Manning has had. They also have arguably the best LT and C in the NFL, and could choose to add a talented RT as Deus said as well. Heck, if they believe in Hoyer they could pass on all QBs and draft WR/RT instead of RT/QB or WR/QB, creating one heck of an offense.

Even if they win the draft on the paper they will still pick in the top 10 next year, I'm not even going to look their schedules. I'm willing to bet 1 month of avatar on this.

A trade involving a 2015 1st from them is a very attractive investment.
