Hit Piece

Brady is gone. If he's sore because he didn't get to be Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers and have a say in what the team does, that's on him. The dude left and won another Super Bowl. From my seat, the Jimmy thing worked because it pissed off Tom and he played better. He got his way and Jimmy got shipped. He got his way and they brought in AB and Sanu. I really don't know what more the guy wants, except more. He's a generational talent and we were lucky to have him here for 20 years. 20 years. It ended. If he is still crabby about it, that's on him. I am thankful it's only one game we have to suffer when the Pats play TB.

Felger can go eff himself. I have no interest in listening to him or reading what he says. Pass. Hard pass.

Not really competitive advantage in most cases. The extent to which injury/strategy secrecy at press conferences actually lead to a on-field advantage is fractional at best.

He does it so the media won’t stir the pot and cause internal dissension within the team. By being the ******* who only allows canned answers, reporters realize they’re getting stonewalled per Bill’s orders. It’s one reason why Bill rarely, if ever, loses the locker room.
Bill Russell used to wine and dine Wilt Chamberlain and other great centers, he became good friends with them because he had to play against them regularly. BB didn't invent this approach, it just happens to be the correct one.

The less you say and less your enemy knows the greater the competitive advantage. BB doesn't buy into the media drama BS, nor should fans... but they do. Many fans love the drama.

He's not wrong about the Jimmy trade or Cam signing. The fact that Cam was brought back for a second season is a sign IMO that Bill is either losing it or is so married to his system that the philosophy has become a liability.

Alternate hypothesis: He knew he was going to get questions in FA along the lines of "Who's going to be the QB?," and he knew he needed a better answer than ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

Felger doesn't hide the fact that he purposely gives hot :poop: takes that he may not actually really believe because he feels it makes more interesting radio and television than toeing the party line even if that is his true feelings on a subject. I don't get how people can get upset with him when he gives one of these hot takes anymore.

My real issue with Felger (and Mazz) is that they have gotten lazy with their hot takes and a lot of them just seemed forced and desperate to generate caller rage when they come in.

There.. Fixed it for you.

Trying to nitpick Belichick after 20 years of unparalleled winning is beyond amusing.

.
That really isn't a valid argument considering he had the real GOAT under center during those years.

Bill has to win without Brady if he wants the GOAT status, otherwise he deserves to be lumped in with Lombardi, Walsh, Knoll and Gibbs for best of all time.

Here's the Peter King stuff:

“Football’s the ultimate blame game,” Brady said. “General managers, head coaches, players, quarterbacks, receivers, defense, offense. It’s so easy to blame someone else. It’s so hard to say, ‘I didn’t get the job done and we collectively didn’t get the job done.’ That’s the best part about team sports. I picked a team where everybody’s like, ‘Hey, we gotta get better.’ It’s not, I got all the answers. You guys just all screwed it up except me.’ Exact opposite way to play the game. You know? You gotta play it together.

“If you’re doing what you love doing and you’re with people you love doing it with, it’s all good. You can go to the Bahamas and play golf with the worst threesome of all time and you’re gonna have a horrible time. Or you can go to the local muni with your three best friends and have the best time. I love the guys I’m working with. This is nothing about New England. I love New England. I love the players. I love coaches. It was magical.

According to the resident geniuses, this was all clearly a shot at Bill, and the disclaimer about New England was just because he'd realized what he'd done and chickened out.

How the Brady crowd read that passage

Yeah, because Bill had NOTHING to do with Brady BECOMING the GOAT.

Belichick is already the GOAT NFL HC. Or do you also diss Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich too?

Bill has to win a SB with another QB either with us or another team. He is not just a good coach or a very coach without Brady, he is sub .500 in 8+ seasons. Brady already won in year one with a new team in a new conference.

Who is the greatest coach in NFL history and how many Super Bowls have they won?

I am talking about the narrative around Bill's legacy in NE. Never has any org taken as much credit for 20 years of success as the Pats have with the GOAT QB at the helm. And now that Brady has won elsewhere, the narrative has taken a sharp turn. Many see Bill as being carried by Brady.

Just think if they win the SB with Mac.

Josh McDaniels will go down as the GOAT OC.

I was actually really sad Josh didn't get the Eagles job. They did too much due diligence. I was rooting for him to get it. And I knew Mac would be good. Ride Brady's coat tails and now soon Mac. Josh is lucky, if luck can be said to be a skill. This generation's Norv Turner

Now, Holley was on board, if anything he was the instigator. I was surprised as well. The hilarious part is, the spent a huge amount of the front part of the show ragging on Bill and how clearly his judgement was terrible, only to towards the end of the show (in a completely different segment on whether or not we're headed for another period of Loserville) declare that he was the greatest coach in the history of the NFL. I sometimes wonder how they don't get whiplash.

It seems that all these sports talkers thrive on negative publicity.. any publicity will do.

I had a lot of respect for Holley as he had so much inside access to the Pats.. based on this less so.

Holley is another one in career preservation mode

Josh wants final say on personnel. Howie said no.

I mean that was obviously smart of Howie. And a lack of self awareness by Josh (or arrogance). Josh McDaniels absolutely sucks at talent evaluation. I'm glad BB personally went to Mac's pro day because Josh traded multiple picks to take Tim Tebow in the 1st round. So glad we didn't take Trask or Mond who McD was both texting predraft. Ok I'll stop don't get me started.

You love Josh. Don't run away from your feelings.

Talk radio is anger pornography.

That's all it is because that's all it's designed to be. They say stupid things to invite callers to light up the lines to "correct" them. It's a game.
