Edelman and Hightower are two of our top 4 players. I don’t see another team going through that
Guess you haven't looked at the Packers.. Or Bills.. Or Raiders.. Like ever..

Anyway the 49ers can trade us Reuben Foster? I would give up a second rounder and a future 3rd rounder.
No. So unrealistic that it's not even worth having a discussion about. They just drafted him.Anyway the 49ers can trade us Reuben Foster? I would give up a second rounder and a future 3rd rounder.
The 49ers are going to trade us their rookie first round pick and take the total guaranteed money cap hit to have him half a season (a rebuilding season) to get a pick in the 60s and a future one in 90s?Anyway the 49ers can trade us Reuben Foster? And we are going to bring a rookie in mid season and expect him to learn out defense?
Where do you get these ideas?
I’m not going to get too excited about schefters report yet but building a defense without Hightower through the second half into a typical BB playoff ready defense and then adding Hightower to it and being able to use him however you want is very interesting. Will be happy if he's back for the playoffs. The offenses left on the schedule, with the exception of Pittsburgh, are high school level offenses that poses exactly 0 threat. And even when NE gets to Pittsburgh, we all know what usually happens in those games.
As long as he's back by the playoffs, it's all good. Schefter's tweet makes it seem possible.
Almost a guarantee that the Patriots aren't going to trade for a big name player to replace Hightower. They've never done it in the past despite endless fan speculation when a player goes down.
Just doesn't seem to be their MO. Let's hope Harris becomes the leader we need, he made some good hits last week that I think fueled the defense's mentality.

Was does a thin air road trip have to do with the chances of winning at home vs LA?You hate to say any NFL game is a gimme. That said, you've gotta be able to beat the Chargers at home. Especially with the thin air road trip upcoming.
trade jimmy
If the pec was known to be a risk at the time of the extension I wonder what protections the team has in the contract in the event Hightower's career goes by the way of Mayo's . Hopefully they have something to get out from under it if they need to
I’m telling you, we’re cursed every other year with injuries. In 2014 and 2016, we were fortunate. In 2013 and 2017, we were not.
Get Peppers or call Nink.

How would you find a character flaw in a guy who spent a SB winning season with you in a workout?Peppers signed with Carolina a long time ago.. Freeney just signed with the Seahawks.
I do find it interesting that the Pats didn't sign Akeem Ayers after they worked him out a few weeks ago. Wonder if that says there is a character flaw that they found that they don't want to deal with..
Hell, Simeon Rice talked about still being in shape and willing to suit up if the Bucs called.. No harm in calling him and seeing what he's got left.. *GRIN*
