I've been noticing this since Tebow came into the league. Football is the one sport where you can teach a 7 year old things that a grownup can't get. "That guy is not an NFL QB." Why are all those checks coming in to one Mr. Tim Tebow from the Broncos/Jets/Patriots then? Anyone who is paid to play QB in the NFL is a QB in the NFL...wacko theory there. If TT gets cut tomorrow and never plays another down in the NFL, he will still have been an NFL QB for three-plus years while 99% of the fans said "He is not an NFL QB." This is not an internet message board.
Or (left side of mouth) "The NFL is only for the very best, nobody could ever succeed just through intangibles or luck alone." (right side of mouth) "Tebow has no talent to play QB, he is only 9-7 as a starter at QB because of intangibles and luck."
And when you say anything in dissent, you're a gay/holy roller/Tebowite who thinks Timmy is the bestest QB in history & your girlfriend beats you up all the time. That, my friends, is called a "false dilemma" and is a well-known logical fallacy. You're either a straightedge like me or you're a raving alcoholic crack addict.
The other main factor is that NFL fans just don't think rushing or option-read yards count for a QB. Never have, never will. 7 year old Johnny understands that 1 yard = 1 yard, but 47 year old Fatty McGamblerpuffs doesn't. The sad thing is, ask an O-lineman and he'll tell you that rushing yards are MORE valuable than passing yards, b/c they enable the line to get downhill.
