Not in regard to the thread title. The thread title is fine. Your premise here seems to be built around the notion Ivan provided that the only way Tebow makes the team is if the team feels bad for him in some way, which is insane. .

That's actually not how I see it, I think the only way Tebow makes the team is if McDaniels is somehow able to convince Belichick that he can somehow salvage him, which in truth I believe is completely about McDaniels ego. If that happens then I am seriously going to wonder if Belichick is stepping down at the end of the season and handing the reigns to McDaniels, otherwise wasting the roster spot makes little to no sense to me.

There has only been one instance where Belichick allowed sentiment to dictate his decision, and that was troy brown's last season, and i don't think it will be Belichick's sentiment that would allow Tebow to stay but rather McDaniels ability to convince him to keep him around, which i hope isn't the case.

After listening to Belichick talk about ST's and roster make-up i seriously doubt he will waste a spot on Tebow.

You can do better here, Manx. Gronk is probably the best (or 1b) TE in the NFL when healthy. Of course he's going to lock up a roster spot from the tub. Harrison may not survive the final cuts and Armstead was a highly touted signing that is dealing with an illness. Both can be viewed as "injured". On the other hand, Tebow has been healthy. So the comparison is pretty far off, to say the least.

I am actually pointing out how ridiculous Ivan's position is that the only thing that matters when building a roster is performance in pre-season games - and according to Ivan your not allowed to use Gronk's previous performances as any sort of guide because he's not allowed us to reference Tebow's previous performances.

All I and other Tebow supporters are saying is that there are factors beside pre-season performance that go into building a roster.

Actually i dropped out of it and the Tebowites kept it going all night and well into this morning. As for Tebow I spent no time discussing him the past 4-6 years, only the past few weeks, when it becaqme clear he doesn't belong on this team. His cult on the other hand has been following him from team to team and board to board for years, yet I am the one who is "obsessed" with him. You really need a dictionary to explain what "obsessed" means, because following Timmy from team to team for years and years and arguing with the respective fans of those teams really fits it perfectly.

Neither side is right. I know the definition of being obessed so i dont need the dictionary for that . You can make a claim that both sides are obessed with tebow and that would be close to being factual. I get where you are coming from about some fans being only tebow supporters and following him from team to team , but its within their rights to do so. Furthermore he is on our team now so it's either we root for him to succeed or to fail.

Stop calling them a cult. It's a ridiculous ad hominem. They like Tebow - so what!

They follow him like Moses and continue to believe in him no matter how poorly he performs, it's a cult.

LOL, like yours are any better? At least mine is short and sweet!

Short, sweet and pointless.

If you don't like the thread, don't bother posting in it is all I'm saying.

And yet another religious reference from you. Now we're getting to the nub of your Tebow dislike.

I'm not obsessed with him at all, I have seen what I needed to and have made my judgement on him. It is cutdown time and we debate who should stay and who should go, and prior to Tebow that debate always centered around actual performance, however that standard is apparently unfair to Tebow.. When he is cut i will continue to discuss the Patriots and he won't even cross my mind, whereas his cult will follow him to his next stop and continue these arguments with the fans of that team, I guarantee you I won't be there to say anything, but they will continue to make the same tired old arguments about new roles for him and giving him more chances that they have been making for years.

And if Tebow is on the roster this season, you'll cheer for him if he's asked to contribute in some way?

Cult analogies are usually based on religious references, and are entirely applicable in this case both because of Tebow's proselytizing and the behavior of his followers. I could care less whether he loves jesus or not, I only care about how he plays, and had he come into camp and really played well and then gone out and gone 11 for 16, 120 yards and 2 TD's with no picks, and then followed it up with more good practices and another good pre-season performance i would say that he played well and is worth considering for a roster spot, but that isn't the case. Feel free to accuse me of bigotry all you want, i know that isn't the case at all.

This'll be an interesting answer.

With a very vocal minority screaming page after page. Very odd to say the least.

I will root for the Patriots and hope Tebow helps them, but admittedly be distraught that it came to that and really really concerned about their season. It will be no different than any other player who I have lost faith in, I will hope for the best and look forward to the day when they are replaced by someone better. That was true with Chad Jackson, Laurence Maroney, The party Starter, Ochocinco, Haynesworth etc.., and is a normal part of rooting for any team. We all don't believe in every player and want them here, but we hope they perform well if called upon regardless.

noun: bigotry;?plural noun: bigotries

1. bigoted attitudes; intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.

Hahaha, thx for the laugh.

You mean the actual fans of that team voicing their opinion that he sucks and they don't want him. Very odd indeed.

I'm not sure citing Tebow's previous performances would work in his favor, to be honest.

Show me an example of Tebow proselytizing when he is being interviewed or in any football related communication . Saying "I want to thank my lord and savior blah blah blah.." is not proselytizing and a gazillion other players do it.

you wont find the example. In fact find me an example of anyone even bringing up religion (as a reason they like him) that is a Tebow fan on these boards. (its another imaginary battle you are creating).

I am convinced now that Tebow just makes you uncomfortable (or maybe his religion), all his good deeds (donating his money, helping sick kids, building hospitals over seas, his work with make a wish etc) cause some sort of inner reflection inside of you...there is no other explanation on why a QB3 , that will most likely not even be on the team day 1 , has captivated your mind like this when you are NOT a fan of his.

if you are a fan and liked the way he played at Florida and with the Broncos , that would be ok but you don't like him and you think he sucks as a football player ,so your obsession is way beyond the field .

I won't even charge you for this session on the couch, this one is on me....

What did he do to earn a spot on the team?

If he wasn't such a media creation...he would have been cut a long time ago.
