I'm fully aware of the current depth chart and am fine with it. I don't understand how it's relevant to any potential future for Tebow and the Patriots.

Imagine this...ME...Mr. Snarker, interjecting a small moment to hypothesize.....

Remember when Ahern first began playing in the offense?...and we all knew he was a tight end and there were arguments over who should get the bulk of the snaps between him and Gronk and then we all saw that the offense had morphed into this two TE/hybrid?..and then we argued about who should play which TE position when the Pats once again started shifting him in the H back position and he started playing all over the goddamned place and NO ONE KNEW WTF was going on but we sure LIKED IT?

That's my only point...whatever any of us thinks Tebow will be utilized for, we really do not KNOW what the hell they have cooked up...it could be nothing but a cut...if he sticks it HAS to be something...they just don't take a player with his history and then compartmentalize him somewhere in the bubble for the rest of the season.

anyway, it's the 26th already...tonight we'll see a piece of the puzzle put into play...

lmao, it is unfair to ask whether Tebow has earned a spot on the roster. All he had to do was play well for his supporters to point to it and make their case, he hasn't, they can't, so they try to make it a fairness issue. Boo hoo hoo, poor timmy, he is so maligned and misunderstood. the truth is that those receivers could have caught those passes if they had fallen down ten yards earlier or if they were 16 feet tall, and it's not timmy's fault that they didn't or aren't.

Unlike you, I can honestly evaluate abysmal quarterback play when I see it during the 2013 NFL Preseason.

No, of course the public perception is going to be that he hasn't earned a roster spot. What else should they think? He's absolutely sucked in the preseason games so far, and the practice/TC reports have been pretty awful too. The question is a no-brainer.

BUT...it's not up to the fans, the media, or the public--so if Bill Belichick thinks that he can offer something to the benefit of the team, he'll make the roster. After all, none of us are privvy to the information that Belichick sees and knows about him.

I don't think it'd be b/c he necessarily "likes" him. It could be b/c he sees more than we've seen and may have some kind of bigger picture plan in place.

It's not out of the realm of possibility to think that a player with weaknesses and mechanical issues may be able to improve under the tutelage of a full year of Brady, Belichick, and McDaniels. The ability to learn from a real organization from proper film study and a potential improvement in certain areas is not out of the question.

We'll know by Saturday. Until then it'll be a non-stop pissing match with both sides making bold predictions. I'm not falling for that crap. If Belichick has a bigger plan he'll make it, if not he won't make it. It's pretty much as simple as that.

Yet Tim Tebow was not worth participating in one snap in any capacity whatsoever in the third preseason game.

I'm quite sure that BB wants to field what he considers to be the best 53 man roster as well. If Tim Tebow is on that roster, then Bill most likely has a good reason, whether YOU agree with it or not.
