You haven't defined earned. And I've justified a Tebow place on the roster in all the othe other Tebow threads - you just have to look at my second to last post in the mega-thread.

You justifying a place for Tebow on the roster and Tebow actually earning a spot are two entirely different things, and it is an obvious attempt at avoiding answering the real question, which is whether or not Tebow has earned a spot through HIS performance.

Actually what i am looking for is the Tebow supporters who believe he HAS earned a spot and for them to say what he has done to earn it. So far all i have seen are the Tebow supporters who want him on the team simply because he is Tim Tebow, and this poll and thread was an effort to actually locate the people you are talking about. So far none have appeared, otherwise we would be reading their explanations right now rather than their attempts to deflect from it.

Stand up and tell us what he has done to earn a spot on the team, the opportunity is staring you right in the face.

No, he hasn't. But he's still gonna be on the final 53 because they signed him with a plan in mind that was going to take longer than 2 months to realize. Hope this helps.

My opinion won't surprise anyone, Tebow has performed worse than any other player on this team during this camp and pre-season and shouldn't be on the 75 man roster let alone the 53. If he is serious about a career in football he should go to the CFL and learn how to play well enough to make an NFL team. Imo it is ridiculous that some people want him on the team when he hasn't earned it.

We make these arguments all the time and to date there have been no reports from camp about how well tebow is doing, despite tens and tens of thousands of people attending. And his performance in the pre-season games was atrocious. So there is plenty to go on and we all make roster decisions based on what we have seen and heard, yet in this instance you want to avoid it and somehow claim we can never know. I call bullsh.t.

Mallett is the 2nd best QB on the team, and I'd say better and more upside than most backups out there...hence the roster spot.

But that's a different issue than earning the spot. Being the second best option may get a guy on the roster, but that assessment can be based on prior year performance, or a belief by the coaches that future performance will outshine recent performance.

From what's been visible to us fans, Tebow hasn't earned diddly. Is there more we can't see? Sure. But that could just as easily count against him rather than for him.

Based upon what we've seen - no.

I haven't seen backup QB play this bad since 2008 - when the general consensus, based upon what we saw in public training camp session and preseason games was that Brady's backup also wasn't good enough to start

However, Belichick saw something else

Was going to avoid commenting in this thread simply because it's moronic to have yet another Tebow thread, when this very question can be and is discussed in existing threads.

But, since you have chosen to use my name in a response, I felt the need to jump in and correct you.

Speaking for myself, I don't think Tebow should make the roster just because he's Tim Tebow and I happen to be a fan.

The only reason he should make the roster is IF Bill thinks he should for whatever reasons Bill might have.

Don't confuse "want" with "should". I WANT Tebow to make the roster. That doesn't mean I think he SHOULD.

I feel pretty safe in saying that most the people on the list you posted feel the same way.

Check my posts in the other thread which I know you have because you've replied to a bunch of them, and you'll know why I think Tebow could be a Patriot. So I'd say that accusing me of avoiding the subject is BS because I've probably bored people to death speculating as to why.
