That much vodka for breakfast.Sorry. That is the last time I will have vodka for breakfast.
The only saving grace for the Pats is that the team is not relying on Maye to be the immediate savior on the field and the face of the franchise off the field. Compare that with how the Jets handed the keys to Zack Wilson and the press gave him the hero treatment with no attempt at making him earn the job.Yep.
Nothing epitomizes this more than drafting a so-called franchise quarterback when the OL is in dire need of talent.
This is putting the cart before the horse.
A great QB on a bad team is still a bad team. Justin Herbert has been one of the best QB's in the league, his teams have still stunk. In five seasons he has played in one playoff game and lost.Witj
With having a QB now in Drake.. I feel more confident in the future than the rate we were going last few years. Right now yeah it looks ugly.. let's get though the season and see if they can turn it around.
Good point.Who is "we?"

I don't think so. He's going to get 3 years. The glass half full? Gotcha. This may accelerate Mayo’s departure and we might get a good, experienced coach next year. Mike Vrabel?

He's Kraft's chosen one. He's going to get more than enough opportunity to fail. I am sure "Thunder" (Gawd that's awful) is giving him a mulligan on this year. The clock on Mayo until next year.On what charge? Malfeasance? Impersonating an NFL head coach?
Fireman Padraic O'Flaherty? Not until Tedy Bruschi stands at the draft podium and chants, "P-A-T-A Pats! Pats! Pats!"
When you take into account his dismal record even prior to the Mayo era, I think Wolf has demonstarted he is not worthy of another year's extension. I'd cut the losses now and begin a legitimate hiring process (for a change) starting now. He's Kraft's chosen one. He's going to get more than enough opportunity to fail. I'm not so sure on Wolf. The line situation is really troubling. Until that's fixed, they are going to be bad, I don't care if Tom Brady walks in the door. His clock is ticking now, but he's got one more off-season to get it right.
I don't think they will. I think they'll blame it all on Bill and Wolf gets one more year. When you take into account his dismal record even prior to the Mayo era, I think Wolf has demonstarted he is not worthy of another year's extension. That would be unfortunate, I think. I just don't see how anyone could look at what Wolf has done and honestly claim to see competence. He seems to have kept his job by claiming Bill was mean to him and paid his input no heed, Now we see why Bill chose to take that approach, not that toward the end taking his own advice served Bill very well.I don't think they will. If this futility continues — especially with more signs that he’s lost control of the team — not a chance. If Kraft sticks with him that long, that will be an ego trip like no other. It’s one thing to lose while playing hard with good fundamentals. That’s not what is happening now, and fans will not stand for it. The pink hats will fly away.I don't think so. He's going to get 3 years.
Where is the Fool when you really need him? Hopefully Johnathan can play that role.Kind of King Lear-ish.
I think Kraft is going to exercise patience and play the long game. That would be unfortunate, I think. Playing the long game only makes sense if the right resources are in place. Playing the long game with the wrong resources in place is known as wasting time. With the exception possibly of Wolfe, I think it's too early write off all the post-BB hires, but there is certainly cause for concern, given the team's continuing, perhaps accelerating, decline.I think Kraft is going to exercise patience and play the long game.
It's all about Maye. Until he's the starter and has a season under him, all these moves from this year are irrelevant. If Maye ends up being a top QB in the league, then this off season was a success, but we can't judge that after 4 games and one appearance. So the front office as a whole gets a pass. Next year, Maye starts week one and they'll draft OL help and bring in OL free agents. (dunno who, the OT FA class is thin). Then you can see what the rebuild will look like. Now? You've got a conservative JAG playing QB, rookie HC and an OC who's hands are tied by suckage on the OL and the aforementioned conservative JAG QB. Your best OL guy is hurt, your LT left the team, your best defender is hurt and the popular pass rusher was traded away. This season is going to suck, but the judgement is going to be withheld on changing course until Maye is given the reigns.
Just my opinion.
