GOAT FACTS

I think going into SB #8, doubling any other QB and seeking Title #6 matching the entire franchise history of any other team (and more than 30 of them) the board deserves a thread honoring the GOAT. Post you favorite GOAT facts here. I’ll start with:

In the postseason there have been 40 cases of QBs throwing 50+ passes. 8 of those were by Tom Brady, 32 by everyone else. The w/l records in thise games:

Brady. 6-2
Everyone else 2-30

If you include regular season games
Brady. 19-9 (second most wins is 5)
Everyone else. 112-438

The stats for Brady are so mind-boggling they'd blow a fuse on the WOPR.

When Brady finally hangs them up, all future generations of Pats fans will have bragging rights.

One stat that I like to throw at the AFCE fans is that since Brady became the starter in 2001 the Pats have finished with the best record in the AFCE every year.

I brought this up among some friends... going into the season which are you taking in this prop, Tom brady completing is first pass of the season, or the patriots reaching the championship game. Of course both could happen, but which are you more confident in

I'd go with Brady every day and twice on Sunday.

Most INT in the playoffs: Tom Brady, 31 INTs
Most times sacked in the playoffs: Tom Brady, Sacked 64 times

Most Postseason Touchdown Passes, NFL History
1. Tom Brady, 66
2. Joe Montana, 45
3. Brett Favre, 44
Actually brady has 68

This is a Brady and Manning comparison. These stats are as of 2014.
  • Brady in a dome: 67.4%, 8.64 YPA, 6.9 TD%, 2.62% INT, 106.42 rating
  • Manning in a dome: 66.16%, 7.8 YPA, 6.1% TD, 2.4% INT, 99.72 rating
Brady versus Manning overall:
  • Brady: 63.5% completions, 7.4 YPA, 5.5% TDs, 2.0% INTs, 96.1 rating
  • Manning: 65.5% completions, 7.7 YPA, 5.9% TDs, 2.6% INTs, 97.7 rating
Brady versus Manning % of games outdoors:
  • Brady: 92% of his games outdoors (185 of 202)
  • Manning: 49% of his games outdoors (122 of 248)

Great stats upstater1... I think that Brady may have the highest passer rating of any QB when playing indoors, even though every single one of them he's played is either a road game or neutral site.

This is actually one of the things leaving me most confident about Sunday

75% of the world’s population eats goat meat.

Goat meat should be cooked to 160°F.

Goat meat has half the fat of beef, and 40% less saturated fat than chicken.

There is only 122 calories in a 3oz serving of goat.

Goat milk contains more calories and fat than cow milk but has more protein.

One stat that I like to throw at the AFCE fans is that since Brady became the starter in 2001 the Pats have finished with the best record in the AFCE every year.
In 2002 the Jets won the AFCE. In 2008 the Dolphins won the division in a tie-breaker.

In 2002 it was a tiebreaker as well (with Dolphins and Jets). His point still stands - the Pats had the best record in the division all those years, just didn't necessarily win the division.

I consider the "best" to mean without equal. The way I use the term the point doesn't stand.

Following upstater1's great post, this is up-to-date right now:

Manning career record in domed or retractable roof stadiums:
92-38 (0.708), passer rating 99.1

Brady career record (so far) in domed or retractable roof stadiums:
17-4 (0.810), passer rating 107.6

Links to career splits data:
Peyton
Manning Career Splits | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Tom Brady Career Splits | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Outside

Brady 179-53 (.772) passer rating 96.8

Manning 95-41 (.699) passer rating 94.0

Unfortunately pro football reference doesn’t have the breakdown for post season which would widen the gap.

So Brady has a higher rating than Manning both indoors and outdoors, but Manning has a higher overall rating because greater % of games indoors.
No.
Brady now had a career passer rating of 97.6.
Mannings was 96.5.
