I like the idea, but the recipient is wrong. The Patriots have enough money topaz their fine. I would give money to fund anti-goodell/NFL billboards outside of Gillette and the meadowlands. I would give money to fund information of wrongdoing by the league, Jets, /Colts, Ravens. I would give money to fund a brilliant MIT/Harvard scientist to roast the Wells report, I would give money to fund a Hacker to hack into Wells, Goodell's and Grigson's emails.

I would gladly donate for Brady just to make a point but I'm not helping Kraft after he turtled once again and let the NFL know he would eat any sh.t pie they made for him.

If the Patriots embrace the ghost of Al Davis and sue the league Every which way they can and unload every bit of dirt they have on them I will reconsider.

Give the money to someone who can organize a solid campaign to boycott all the companies that are sponsors of the NFL. All the consumer product companies that want the 15 million people in New England to buy their products.

If this market (3rd largest) decided to turn their backs against these companies you better believe the NFL would feel it. The only way to send a message is to send them one that will do real damage.

Anything else is just whining.

I like the billboard idea, or even black armbands with Goodell sucks.. but need a definite plan before I contribute.

Kraft and Brady have very deep pockets and can pay for their own attorneys..

Billboards could say a few different messages that don't even pertain to Pats directly. Goodell's picture with don't support the NFL with Goodell's picture next to a battered woman/child, and on the bottom paid for by supporters of TFB. Or that picture of Goodell above with the long nose, saying "what me lie"
Or outside the Meadowlands, could read the "Jets charge the taxpayers $ to honor our military." Or one with Goodell's picture saying 44 Million reasons to hate the NFL

The monies could go toward Brady/team with the option for either to, instead, use the monies raised to, say, fund a program that helps those who have been falsely accused of a crime.

The real value, IMO, is to use the crowdfunding platform to draw awareness of the distaste football fans have for this verdict. Maybe the NFLPA, and its players, could also get involved to really "kickstart" things? Afterall, I am sure plenty of players aren't too keen on the leagues "guilty until proven innocent" laws.

TB and the Pats should start a huge national campaign to support battered women. Think about it. The whole premise can revolve around how they think its a serious problem despite what 9 billion dollar sports leagues think.

I'd rather buy a free Brady t-shirt sold by patsfans and the proceeds go towards making this site better for everyone of us.

Pay for the billboard in NYC. Don't let Goodell feel comfortable in his own backyard.

The Go Fund Me page should be for McNally and that other dude. They are innocent and being punished just like Brady...except they are probably not rich so they can't do anything.

Fans already pay for these fines indirectly. I am up for statements against this three-ring circus called the NFL, but throwing money to the NFL in protest (albeit to show you still back your team) seems an odd way to go about it.

Love the team, huge fan of Brady and strongly disagree with all of this. The way to sting the NFL is media and revenue (team gear purchases, commercial revenue and ticket sales). If the net effect of this circus, through the other 96.7% of the NFL fans, is an increase in revenue (which I suspect it will be), then that will be a tough goal to achieve unless you make the other fans believe the system is rigged and their failings were pre-ordained by NFL actions and the NFL is no different than the WWE (e.g., boxing and the Don King effect). I suspect the bulk of the NFL fans are thrilled with any discomfort heaped on the Pats and the fans, even illegal and unprincipled discomfort. They are better for it because a handicapped Pats team means they may actually win something.

I agree. I want to show support for the team but the fine is sort of the least of the ridiculousness. I mean, don't get me wrong, it IS ridiculous, but the statement about how unhappy we all are needs to be made in a different way and that is taking money away.

Sky write over Meadowlands at Jets opener
TFB was framed

Was on Reddit too but a simple #FireGoodell near NFL offices would suffice.

I have to agree with Florio here:

Internet allows idiots to donate money to a much, much, much richer person http://wp.me/p14QSB-9LR9

I'm not donating, but lets me real here.

You know, I know, Florio knows, we all know, Kraft wouldn't pocket a cent of that money if he ever received it.

It would be donated to charity after a PR ceremony to acknowledge and thank Pats fans for the gesture.

Which is exactly what its all about, a statement/gesture of solidarity.

Beware that some of these might be scams.

Scam artist preys on Sandy Hook victims' families by setting up fake donation website

‘These scammers,’ he said, ‘are stealing from the families of victims of this horrible tragedy.’

It's a problem as familiar as it is disturbing.

Tragedy strikes - be it a natural disaster, a gunman's rampage or a terrorist attack - and scam artists move in.

It happened after 9/11. It happened after Columbine. It happened after Hurricane Katrina. And after this summer's movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
