Hopefully won't be an issue long term, considering he also reps Dennard, Solder, Vereen, Bequette, and Mallett. (And Hernandez, who won't need any negotiating anytime soon.)
He also reps Brian Waters, so this isn't the first issue between the Pats and one of his clients.
I'm not personally seeing the excess of bad blood with Dunn myself.
From what we can gather from reports and Welker's agent, their initial offer was a 2/16 deal (some of the expert capologists here believe that was an extension onto his last remaining year, which would have made his 3 yr aav at approx 6 million).
That went down to a "lessened" offer last May when Welker signed the franchise tag, according to Dunn. I think it's safe to say that it was likely a few million less at about 2/13, or somewhere between their extension offer of a yr before and today's offer of 2/10.
When you factor in DEN's signing price of 2/12 it would certainly seem as though NE was right in the ballpark of what the market value for him was the whole time. Just because Welker didn't agree to a 2/10 offer here and signed a 2/12 offer there shouldn't mean that there had to be a ton of bad blood as far as agents go.
It's quite possible that their bad blood would be with Welker, not Dunn, and even that may be much more limited than we realize. If Dunn is going to hold grudges based on a failed negotiation that's his stupidity. I'm not 100% convinced that Belichick wants Cassel back anyway. We'll have to see.

Why would an agent who negotiates with 2 teams for a players contract have ill feelings toward the one that offered less money? That would eliminate one or more teams every time he has a player sign a contract.

Can't recall any issues the Pats had with agents other than Tom Condon when he rep'd for Watson. To my knowledge that was the last player the Pats have dealt with who had Condon as representation.
Jerome Stanley was a piece of work when he rep'd for Branch but IIRC the Pats and Stanley have done biz together when other players were rep'd by JS.
Limiting yourself to certain teams would be considered a terrible business exercise not only in terms of yourself, but in the players that you represent--as it is your job and duty to try to get them the best deals from all 32 teams.
On top of that I highly doubt that either Belichick or Kraft would be stupid or classless enough to make things personal with an agent that represents at least 5-6 other players on the N.England Patriots.
