It’s really not thorough. A 7th is a 7th no matter what year it is in.
A 7th this years helps you from this year until whenever he is through and a 7th next year helps you from next year to whenever he is through, which is a year later.
Have a player from 2024-2027 has no more value overall than having a player from 2025-2028.
The reason you gain a round in trading on draft day is you are trading a pick with knowledge of who is available for a pick without knowledge of who is available.

Well that’s the other reason you gain a round in the future because the guy trading is worried about job security. But in the big to the franchise a 7th in any year has the same value.
