Patriots Player Departure Folk traded to Titans

A 7th in '25 is like getting a 9th rounder this year

Not as much as I would have liked. Even WITH all his accuracy and success there must have been no one banging at our door for Nick Folk. I had hoped we'd get our 6th back

A bit nervous letting such a solid vet go. He was so much better than I thought when we took him off the "washed up" pile.
Ryland has massive shoes to fill in the kicker tradition we've established here, going back to Matt Bahr, Vini, Gost...

Need to find out if there were other offers; if Belichick took a low offer to help out a coaching buddy. Not on the same scale, but the fact that he took a 2nd rounder for Garrapolo just to help out his buddy's kid is borderline criminal. Stockholders would demand an investigation into Such activity from a CEO...

Sounds more like they were trying to help Folk find the best situation for him and his family.

Folk will have made 23 Million+ if he stays with the Titans.. not bad for a place kicker. Hopefully he made some wise choices with where to invest his money.

Not bad for a kicker who may not have the leg to hit a 50 yarder or hit a kickoff into the endzone consistently.

.... and if YOU were a fan of a team who gave up a first rounder for a back up QB who had 5.5 quarters of actual game experience in 3 years with the Pats, you would have ranted at that organization day and night for a year. very much like you have done here.

The Pats got GREAT value for him given the situation. Garoloppo was drafted to BE the guy who might replace Brady as he enter the years where QB tended to decline. When it was clear Brady wasn't declining the only thing left to do was get SOME value for him. They waited as long as they could and made the deal with SF.

They draft JG with the 62nd pick, they got the 39th. That seems like a good value to me

Go home Asante

If he did, it was to help out Folk. This puts him in a good spot close to his family.

He did a great job here and if not for KOs he wins camp battle again.

It’s really not thorough. A 7th is a 7th no matter what year it is in.
A 7th this years helps you from this year until whenever he is through and a 7th next year helps you from next year to whenever he is through, which is a year later.
Have a player from 2024-2027 has no more value overall than having a player from 2025-2028.
The reason you gain a round in trading on draft day is you are trading a pick with knowledge of who is available for a pick without knowledge of who is available.
