Finally: an explanation for Ja'Lynn Polk's putrid rookie season

Terry Glenn and Malcom Mitchell for example could have been magical with brady had thier careers spanned on here. I believe bill for example knows what goes into drafting a WR just don't believe when he was here he put big value on WRs.
His value system for WRs produced the greatest amount of winning in nfl history.
I’ll take rings over WR glory.

Well, hopefully the WR room will be so good next year that if he's not performing, it won't be a big loss to cut him. But if they go bargain bin shopping again this off season... who knows?
I think even if they purchase or draft a WR1, there'll still be room for someone to step up into a WR2 role. If Polk, Baker and Boutte all don't, they can fall back on Bourne.

Theoretically they may purchase AND draft a top WR, such as signing Higgins and then also drafting Hunter, who would be a pretty good tandem in the same mold as Higgins and Chase are in Cincinnati. At that point there's not a lot of space for Polk, Baker, Boutte or Bourne except to back up those guys or be a rotational piece.

I remember glenn being ok, nothing great, maybe if he had brady he would have been better. Mitchell barely rings a bell

That's my thinking too, that they'll double down on top receivers both in free agency and the draft. Then Pop for your slot receiver. But then you prefer your last WR to be on a rookie deal, so Polk or Boutte, probably?

Glenn was hurt and was missing team meetings ect.. I don't believe he took to Bill's way.. so he was traded to Dallas I think.. what could have been.. Glenn would have been the deep threat the Brady offense lacked until moss came along. Malcolm Mitchell last seen Making crucial players in the falcons superbowl. He had a knee issue that never really healed and he wasn't able to continue playing with it.

Show me how many rings and glory before and after brady. Brady made it work with value and system guys. Brady made it work with Doug grabriel, Caldwell, gaffney. Yes Bill is the best to ever do it. However so isn't the QB who actually throws the ball.

“Team sources believe Polk is struggling mentally with mistakes and that he’s hard on himself, so the issues are compounding," wrote Doug Kyed of The Boston Herald.

I'm having a hard time taking the Patriots' "brain trust" seriously. This guy has been running his mouth in the opposite direction of that quote every chance he gets. Mr. Best-Hands-In-The-NFL says he's going to turn things around into a "legendary story" at the same time this report comes out.

Bottom line: they drafted a head case at WR (two, counting Baker) with average to below average physical traits. He's literally the worst receiver in the NFL.

not for nothing, but i teach middle school.......the ones that project the loudest tend to be the least confident......honestly, this sort of tracks

Shows Wolf has about as much grip on the skills required for his job as does Mayo.

btw, I was perusing a Chiefs board recently looking for what their current thinking on BoneyT was. I came across an article that could have been written by one of us. Then I realized I was reading about BoneyX

Xavier Worthy Struggling in Expanded Role: Cause for Concern? (Week 9)
Struggling?? I would call those numbers below excellent numbers for a Rookie with Four Games left. Every decent Rookie hit some sort of Rookie wall: and I said decent which X-Worthy is...Polk is just bad.

Reaching for a specific position instead of looking for the best player available at positions of need.

Merely "good' not "great" talent, mentally weak... poor drafting.

I didn't say he was struggling; some Chiefs guy did. And it was back in week 9. I haven't paid close enough attention to opine myself. I was just amused by the crazy parallels in the article to the commentary that Thornton drew here.

The very position he has a habit of missing on is one of the reasons why he's out of this League. Imagine Brady having A.J. Brown instead of Big for nothing can't separate Harry we would still have Brady and probably Win another Championship. When talking about the Patriots Draft Needs last Draft: I hear BB said they need QB - WR and OT. I said You pathetic GM could have fixed one of those Needs water under the bridge now.

We should have Drafted George Pickens instead of that scrub but BB didn't want to deal with a hot head. He likes those choir boy can't play types like Tyquan Thornton.

Big time!!!!!! WR was his weakness. Brady made it work with lesser players becuase he had too. Doug Gabriel, Jabar gaffney, Caldwell, Brady's greatness allowed those guys to eat! AJ brown publicly stated like Deebo did that they wanted to be drafted here. So in 2019 he got Antonio brown wich i give him credit for but the 2019 1st round pick should have been a playmaker instead we got a play faker

If worthy is struggling I wonder what polk and baker are considered....

I get sick just thinking about that Draft we Drafted Two Busts that year Harry and Slow-quan Williams. I hope BB have nightmares thinking about those misses that's why he had to quit on Shula's record: I hope Andy Reid breaks it.

Oh don't remind me of slo-joe.. don't forget Harry asking for a trade.. Arguing with the WR coaches.. .. Reid definitely will break it..BB took the UNC job let's see how many WRs get developed under him.

This speaks to my reply to posters who are wr happy. BB and the pats never had great wide outs when the pats won all those super bowls. The team had good, to very good o-lines, and a great qb. Those o-lines gave the wide outs more time to get open, and brady more time to find them.
