I seem to remember this time last year some Pats fans being angry that the Pats didn’t trade for Fields, especially when it came out that the Steelers only spent their 2025 6th round pick to get him. I’m glad that those fans have had a chance to see the light since then. The Pats are better off with Maye than they would have been hitching their wagon to Fields. Now he’s the Jets’ problem.

I get what you’re saying but Drake Maye was always an option at that point, the Pats had pick #3 and it was a question of whether he or Jayden Daniels would be the one available and how comfortable we would be with that option, versus taking a guy like Marvin Harrison Jr. or Joe Alt instead and having a guy like Justin Fields as the QB. But I think it was always going to be whoever was left at QB at #3, and bringing in Fields would’ve been a waste of resources.

Bill is the guy who liked him. honestly i believe Drake became a more realistic option for us once Bill left. I started to like Drake the minute he stepped foot in Foxboro and saw his interview.. without him taking a snap I just instantly felt like he's the guy.

I know right! Nothing against McCarthy.. but Drake is the total package.. Even as a rookie DC had to account for him.. he can throw accuracy downfield, hit guys in stride throw across his body, when the play breaks down can beat you running for the first down.. I was won over during preseason that 29 yard run on 3rd down.
