The interception last week wasn't great but the offense is predicated on 50/50 balls to parker as we have 0 deep threat. Parker also could have made a lot more effort for that ball. Mac also has the least amount of time to throw so far in the league. I'm not fully in on Mac yet but he needs support which he isn't getting. Bill really doesn't seem to value offense and hasn't for a few years
The offense is NOT predicated on throwing the ball up to a covered receiver and hoping he comes down with instead of the defender.

Absolutely spot on, we knew the schedule would be tough... we knew this when the NFL made the schedule available to teams. From what RK was saying in the offseason the perception was having a real OC would fix the offense. I believe that's what was the thinking when deciding not to upgrade the skill positions.

We have some rookies boutee and Douglas who show promise.. how Boutte was unavailable right? DD got benched for fumbling. Nobody can win on the outside right now. The O line yes we have some solid players there, but it's just the constant changes up front.. their is no continuity for Mac and the Line to be able to execute blocking assignments. I'm always optimistic on the team.. but this season I just don't feel good where we are and another loss could propel an implosion.. Sunday is a pivotal point of sink or swim.. no more moral victory speeches, no more excuses.. guys who are out there are going to have to execute or else it's 0-3 and downhill from there.

I think if we get the OL situated and can run the ball for more than 3.5ypc we will see the offense open up and guys get more open.

BUT the question will still be do we have the skill players to win a shootout. sometimes in the NFL you need to have a receiver who can make an amazing catch or play. not sure we have anyone who can do that.

Yes, the o line is so important to what we are trying to do and be as a unit. I'm intrigued by reagor.. Hopefully he can get on the active game day roster. I've seen him play with the Vikings and eagles he has some explosive ability.. if juju isn't right let him recover correctly and allow the young guys to continue to ascend. At this point as I said it's sink or swim..

For starters, they’ve asked Vegas oddsmakers how much a head coach is worth (Belichick) and it’s less than 7 points for an entire season. That’s less than half a point per game. Coordinators are much more negligible. Odds do not even move fractions of points.

Empirically listening to talking heads and fans talk about coordinators is a laughable exercise and full of confirmation bias. Rarely do these guys make a difference over a season. The QB and the players are the total output. Seen this so many times with QB so and so and how a new OC is going to “get the most out of him” and it’s the same result. And when there’s a great young QB the coordinator gets a lot of credit and then fails to replicate the results.

If you look at the NE offensive coordinators, the quarterbacks they have here, and what they’ve done elsewhere, you’ll see the light. It’s a whole lot of smoke.

Correct

Just look at all the great offenses throughout NFL history who had OCs become HC of a different franchise and fail. How is Micky Daniels doing with his 30th ranked offense out in Vegas? Daboll has had metered success as the Giants HC. KCs Nagy bombed in Chicago.
I think only the extremes make a difference. Think of Favre with and without Holmgren (3x MVPs in a row to no MVPs) or the Buccaneers last year with Bowles.

Although, one could argue that Favre already had some mediocre/bad playoff performances even with Holmgren, and that Brady's last year still had other mitigating problems

Overall, I would not be surprised if the team stays the same over the next few months. This Pats offense already started to decline at the end of 2021 anyway (the Jaguars game was the last good performance). So this actually fits what you're saying. Talent is 95% of it

so what is parkers job? he can't get separation.

his job is to be a 50-50 guy and make tough catches as a possession receiver.

pretty sure its not to get bodied by smaller CB's
If you don’t understand the job of a wr and how a passing game works there is no point in me trying to explain.
Offenses are not predicated on throwing up balls to covered receivers.

No issues with BOB so far. Just keep him away from the GM chair.

In the Starting Line-Up
Teams with long term QBs with solid offensive line or receiving corps are faring well. I think it's in pats best interest to hold on to Mac and allow him to develop to his highest ceiling which is probably top 10-12 QB.

And get few superstars on offense for Mac to piggy back on. We just don't have any additional trade assets because we did not draft or develop any pro bowler. That's on coaching and GM.

Fans can be critical of the HC/GM, most definitely. But fans don't push negative agendas and beat them to death. Apparently you have difficulty discerning the difference.
Please! You called a fan pathetic and a hater for criticizing Mac or BB. And I responded to that idiotic statement, not to criticize Mac or Bill.

But since you keep bringing it up, who exactly should we criticize for the poor drafts that led to the no talent offense that the Pats have now. Brady fans?

Stop with this nonsense, re-read the posts and let it sink it. There is significant difference between criticism and incessant agenda-pushing.

You're acting like a child. If you feel dissed for being a Brady fan that's between you and a therapist. If you want to criticize BB's drafting have at it, there's been plenty of that via reasonable discussion without people like you copping a persecution complex.

Further to this, I've noticed you have a habit of entering discussions midstream and giving knee-jerk condemnations without considering preceding posts or the posting history of those involved. If something doesn't involve you directly, think before offering your 2 cents. You've made a fool of yourself more than once going that route.

I thought Obie's 3rd-down play-calling, especially on the fringes of FG/4th-down territory, left a bit to be desired... Quite a bit actually.

I know the line isn't very good...

But our offense has declined week by week

Our rushing game is atrocious. Last year our line wasn't that great either, but we ran the ball well. Perhaps some of those west-coast concepts fit Rhamondre better?
