I always find it interesting to converse with and figure out the pulse of the opposing team in big pressure games like this. I've enjoyed most of my interactions with that fan base on that forum and they've shown to produce some stats rather than just replying with the feels so I can respect that.

The only thing I don't get (and this is on both teams boards) is the notion by many that this game will be a blowout one way or the other... I feel like there is a lot of "discounting" going on of the other team by the fans of each respective team.

Atlanta is going to score a bunch, Patriots will also score a bunch, that's pretty much all I feel confident about going into this game.

I will say though, the confidence shown by the Falcons fans is a little surprising seeing as they haven't been on this stage in quite some time and they have an entire team of unprovens riding in on the idea that their epic offense will destroy what they feel is a soft Patriots defense. With the strength of schedule argument, I see where they are coming from, but they are not even thinking about the fact that this is the frigging SB and most times, **** doesn't go like you plan and it's the team that can adjust and execute better that typically wins out.

In 49, the Seahawks fans were just as ****y the week leading up to the game. That confidence melted away as the game commenced and they saw that the Patriots team was no push-over.

Honestly I'd be worried if we were to play them in The Georgia dome, but this is in a neutral field where typically Patriots fans travel well. We are not playing a Denver, Baltimore, NY D line that can rush 4 and drop everyone into coverage. As with all our recent playoff experiences everything rides on our O line. If it gives Brady enough time game over our D will do just enough.

I'm hearing rumors that falcons fans are shelling out for this game. Could be wrong though

For that, I laugh the Eagles have never won a SB, but after Sunday, I don't wish that on Atlanta's fans - yet.

Wow, just wow. If you are having a tough time drumming up hatred for the Falcons, may I present to you their delusional fans. I know that most Pats fans on this site are confident in a victory but this is just over the top. We at least have some respect for Falcons' talent and can envision scenarios which could lead to a Patriots loss.

Nice touch with the deflated football, I guess they are planning on having an excuse ready to go.

Also, that is just the latest example of why Tom Brady needs to sue the NFL* for defamation. He will never hear the end of this if it goes unchallenged.

Let's see if a court of law, where the actual facts of the case, and not the rulings of a person who gets to be judge, jury, and executioner of his own witch hunt fueled kangaroo court, sees the evidence as "compelling if not overwhelming".

Coming from outside the US, i do think i can be more unbiased towards fans of various teams when analyzing them, without regional influence.

The Falcons Forum i visited was one of the worst forum I've seen. Most posters are incredibly rude and obnoxious. They can't stand the thought of being wrong, and their reasoning for a "fact" is so one-minded and limited it made me cringe. They don't care about 99 hundred counter-arguments, as long as they can hang onto ONE argument that support a theory. Not to mention that they are absurdly pretentious about their offense, which, albeit excellent, is nowhere near to being a historically great offense.

I am a big Falcons fan, but after my first contact with the "local" fans, my sympathy for the team has diminished considerably. I hope we crush them and put them where they belong: As the forgotten member of the incredible NFC south.
