Falcons fans suck - that team deserves better

Interesting point. I think of it like this map:

Interesting to trace influence of a team and see the places it stops right at a state border. Minnesota / Wisconsin are pretty locked in, it seems. Obviously same for Louisiana and Arizona.

No sign of the NYJ on there .

Original article w/ the map (from 2014) Here Is Every U.S. County's Favorite Football Team (According to Facebook)

That seems correct, but when it comes to the Super Bowl, this was probably more accurate:

Posted by a Falcons fan so not sure how accurate it is, but certainly feels about right.

Note the red pin in the upper right-hand corner indicating Goodell's house. ****ing ****sucker.

And yeah, I'm done with the Falcons fans, moving on. I saw some of the threads ripping Patricia for wearing the shirt mocking Goodell, and proclaiming us cheaters (even though between the Patriots and Falcons, only one of our franchises actually had hard evidence of breaking rules, and guess what Falcons fans? It's you guys).

Plus I don't expect to see them back in the Super Bowl anytime soon so no need to concern myself with them anymore.

Not surprising at all:

1) Atlanta is a huge city for transplants. So people who move there are already fans of other teams.

2) college football is king there. Pro sports take a back seat.

That's a bigger crowd than I would have expected, to be honest. That team just doesn't inspire much passion.
Nor do the fans. Atlanta Falcons might just have one of the most annoying and sad fanbase I have ever seen and in the last three weeks the ugly has shown its true colors.

To start, they cheer a dog killer in Vick. They did back then and still do. I have seen enough youtube comments and Vick's recent return to Atlanta that resulted in cheers in the stadium to know they still support him.

One Falcons fan even said: "Lol, only white people care about their dogs like family. Leave Vick alone"

THEN you had their forum bragging for two weeks saying that offense was historic and we have no chance. Fastforward after the game and 25% of them gave up on their team and turned on Ryan.

We are more classy. Win or lose we love this team unlike a lot other fanbases. Though, that goes double for Atlanta.

The fans were okay until they lost. I can understand their descent into idiocy because they're grasping at straws after what happened.

The Falcons do deserve better fans. They are absolutely bonkers. Case in point..

Did the Falcons intentionally lose?
I mean, I read a bunch of that thread, only a couple people are saying that, most are calling BS, yelling about play calling, and peeing on the tinfoil hat folks. As you can tell from the game-day thread every rose of a team has some thorny fans...

I hear people like Shannon Sharpe and alot of mediots that say that we meaning "New England Fans" are really annoying..? Why?

I found this funny from an Eagle's fan. Check out his jersey sig.

The ATL fans behind at the SB didn't know Beasley's #.....yeah...

The game was an emotional roller coaster. I went from optimism to fear to devastation to hope to elation. The Falcons fans felt all stages but in way more terrible order.

If you recorded my reaction during the superbowl and played it backwards till halftime, that would be the typical falcons fan.

They're heartbroken. Some are leaving the team. Brady crushed their little souls.

Goodbye (<<Link)

I'd love that map to have numbers...I.e. How many of those Falcon states were solid and how many were marginal?

Putting on my flame suit

I have given lots of time in pet rescue and know all about irresponsible and cruel people. What Vick did was heinous. Many people will never, ever forgive him and I get that. He did serve time. AFAIK, his actions since his apology convinces me he is truly sorry, so I forgive him. A-Rod is another jock that has owned up to his mistakes. There are many sports figures that never fess up or like Pete Rose do it very late.

But I get your point that homers too frequently give their players an undeserved pass on utterly unacceptable behavior.

I'm pretty sure it's made up. But if I had to guess, the red states would be something like 99% Falcons, which made this victory so much more satisfying.

Actually, this poll showed 53% of Americans going for the Falcons, while only 27% were rooting for the Patriots.

Americans Come Together On Hating The Patriots

It's clear how divisive politics have become in America, and how it is tearing the country apart, so on the bright side, it's nice that we can help bring common ground between the left and the right and those dirty hippy independents...

I'm going to guess a lot of it is "we hate the dynasty." For the cheaters nonsense, I hope that's subsiding somewhat. Can't say about the Red/Blue issues...it's why I'd like the team to say little about that.

I think the Steelers fans at least have jumped off the cheater thing. They used to think we must have stolen their game plans somehow, but finally realized Tomlin and Co. just never ever EVER ****ing change it...

Though this map looks suspect but its eerily similar to the last time you went 3x to playoffs so im sure LA is correct not sure about NE lol.

Something I just thought of - what the hell kind of slogan is "Rise up"? It implies that you're some kind of trash and now you need to "rise up" to an actually acceptable level of play and talent. I mean, I guess it's fitting, but it feels like another way of saying "Stop Sucking!"
