Falcons fans suck - that team deserves better

If I'm an Atlanta fan I look at the fact that their team displayed some SOUL CRUSHING potential in the first half. Like seriously. You have two of the best RB's, the best WR, two solid WRs in Gabe and Sanu and Matt Ryan.

Then you have a defense that is headed by a great coach and a team that for the first two quarters got pressure on like, 50% of snaps while staying on their receivers.

There is a young, brooding stream in the Falcons and if anyone wants to be a true stan before the bandwagon comes back next season, buy a jersey now, boys. And girls.

Fans and owners are all the same. "BLUHH, WHAT? TWO YEARS, GET US TO THE SB IN THE SECOND AND DON'T WIN???!!!!! GET OUTTA HEREERSJDWLSHDSKJ"

I live in Atlanta and it is shameful. Radio fans calling for Quinn to be fired, Alford to be traded, etc. Terrible sports fans.

I'll take Alford. I thought he had a really good game overall. Falcons are the gift that just keep giving.

Interesting point. I think of it like this map:
Oh I love that map, the one thing you cant find on it is the word "jets" lol

I didn't even see any people at first glance. I thought that little group was part of the gate.

You gotta wonder if the NEP were up 28-3 and collapsed what kind of calls EEI and TSH would be fielding.

I bet we'd hear....

-Never should have traded Jamie Collins. BB got lazy with an elite talent and didn't want to get though to him.
-Never should have let Akiem Hicks go
-Defense was smoke and mirrors all year.
-The game has passed BB by.
-Fire Patricia. Unacceptable to allow 31 straight points
-Because of his age, Tom lost his endurance in big games
-McDaniels sucks
-The o-line is overrated.
-Blount is overrated

It would have been awful.
Just go back to the game thread . Someone was blaming tom for focusing more in the interviews during the superbowl week. We have some not so deserving fans as well.

Yea I read a few of them at 1/2 time. I was already down in the dumps. I couldn't take more of it.

Blaming Tom...c'mon folks...

I heard on NFL Network this morning that "75-100" fans showed up to greet the team and I was appalled on how pathetic that sounded. That pic doesn't even look like it's that many.

Falcons fans do suck. You should have seen them doing the dirty bird throughtout the game and acting like they had already won the super bowl.

Not for nothing, but celebrating your team obtaining a 21-0 and 28-3 lead isn't that crazy. In fact, I'd expect it.

But yes, that's unfortunate at the small turnout. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that the shell shock hasn't warn off yet. I think they want to avoid everything "Falcons" over the next week or so but in time will learn to appreciate what the team was able to accomplish this year.

reread what i wrote. i said they were prematurely celebrating a championship.

Atlanta cancelled their rally in Houston I believe there were not enough fans to make it worthwhile. Not sure if that is true or not it is what I was told.

I was on their forum and though I found some good fans A lot were disappointing.

And so were more fans than you'd like. They had no sense of perspective on NFL football and what works and doesn't work. Also the amount of disrespect they showed thinking they would run over the Patriots was staggering. Yes it went bad early but the Pats clearly did not play their best game but managed to wear Atlanta down anyway and held that O in check generally.

Oh, I know. I mean, if the Pats went up 28-3 on the Falcons I would have essentially felt like I was celebrating a championship too. Sure, there is still a bit of "but what if" knowing that the you know what could hit the fan, but that would be an epic collapse.

For instance, when edelman scored in the third quarter against the Steelers that had the feeling of a Super Bowl berth clinching TD (even though there was a whole quarter left). Yes, I know, when there is time things can alwasy go wrong, but it would defy human nature to not let your mind wander.

Alford was one of two players who delivered an all world performance (Jarrett the other). If anything, #34 should be traded. He got picked on and he led that team in PI/Illegal contact during the season! In fact, I found myself pondering Alford our uniform.

You can let your mind wander, but keep it internal. If you are out there hooting and hollering, posting stuff to instagram, etc. about your "championship" before the final whistle you are asking for it.

I also have zero respect for the atlanta players. Freeman and alford were both hot dogging it in their TDs. They weren't just celebrating, they were rubbing it in.

Matt Ryan and the team desurves way better. Fans quit the team every year, and we watch them burn their gear EVERy year. Its like a ritual in Atlanta, and its started again.

There are alot of true Falcon fans. Dont get me wrong. The problem is the high % of thug fans, bandwagon fans. Fans that dont know anything about football or care, and its a very high number. Really dont know why they burn thier gear. I mean you just buy it back next year and give more money to Blank.
Yes we were laughing, but it is a rivalry. Dont think many here could keep a strait face if the Jets lost like that.
But if you listen to the constant radio calls after the game. One call after another quiting the team and calling Ryan a loser.

I think alot of Saints fans feel sympathy for the Falcons team. There doesnt seem to be a connection with the fans. Think Matt Ryan could do much better somewhere else.

Thses are the fans we dont get along with and just cause trouble. Making hard to take your kid to a game. Excuss the language.

Not that we dont have dumb fans, we all do, but its not a big percentage, and we usually tell our own to shut up.

Just visited their forum

holy hell I had nothing against the falcons until now. Their fanbase seems to legitimately believe the SB was somehow fixed.

My god the delusion

Were it me, I'd delete or edit my gameday thread posts before calling other people in it
