Well, while there's a quell on the board at 6 a.m. while delusional homers such as DaBruinz are still asleep with visions of AHern Making It Rain dancing in their heads, I can slip in here for a moment.

Hey Joker, I have to be the only person on this whole site who gets to gloat -

"I TOLD YOU SO"

Man, I frigging told whomever would listen to me about his guy's inner demons on a Friday in February or March (or was it only just April. man, temus fugit)
There'd be people trying to convince me otherwise and I stood fast and stuck to my urban dime store psychologist impressions of him.

Ya can't drop that pass in the last minute of The Super Bowl.

Ya just CAN'T!

I said that single play gave the entire world a quick glimpse into this guy's inner psyche.
I told whomever would listen over here that Aaron Hernandez' inner turmoil and self hatred made him botch that play. You know who wouldn't let him catch that pass?

Aaron Hernandez wouldn't let Aaron Hernandez catch that pass.

Remember that, Joker?

Well, I couldn't have been more right.

Oh boy, "obstruction" is the sweet spot of further speculation and endless debate of its implications for the player and team

It's basically the way to try and shake down Aaron for more information. My guess is he doesn't fold like Ray Lewis.

Searching the web...as of now I see only WBZ the ones to be reporting it. Now I'm not saying there is/isn't a warrant out, or he is/isn't guilty in all this, but there's been so many conflicting reports in all this, I'm just taking a wait and see approach. He was supposed to be arrested 24 hours ago, but then again , he went from North Attelboro to Foxboro then to Boston then back to N. Attelboro....no arrest. That report was false, as many have been.

Just read this.

Yeah, actually we're not the Ravens lite yet.

But I'm thinking there's an awful lot of bad stuff in the various stories revolving around Hernandez. As a matter of justice, everything's still unfolding, and none of this has seen the inside of a courtroom.

As a matter of fan mental state? Yeah, I'm pretty prepared for a severely negative outcome. Hope I'm wrong.

I wonder if this thread would end if people became convinced that Ahern's days as a Patriot -- and as an NFL player -- are finished. Because I think he's done here regardless of how this plays out.

OK...WBZ reports that Hernandez is going to be arrested on a warrant for obstruction of justice...5:45 am Friday morning here

Looks similar to the Ray Lewis case. A few months in jail and then his football career can resume. Nothing to see here folks. (I'm being sarcastic).

Does anyone know if Hernandez's contract has a character clause?

I am of the opinion that no matter what happens with this case there is a strong chance that the Patriots cut ties with AH. But even if they didn't, who cares about the Raven's comparison. After all, other fans like them better. Didn't you know that videotaping people out in the open trumps murder?

It's more than "not seeing the inside of a courtroom." We have no idea where any of the sources are coming from. We don't know if it's some state trooper from Hyannis who heard from a friend of a friend in the Boston unit that Hernandez did these things. The people who have the best idea of what is going on, are not talking right now, for good reason.

It's obviously a huge story so people are going to jump at things, but everyone should just let things unfold for a few weeks before jumping to anything. We have no idea the accuracy of these reports, or the context, or if there's reasonable explanations for them.

Not defending Hernandez at all, and I am really not sure I would want him on the team if all these allegations are true, but things need to play out.

Starting to think the same.

Even if he beats this charge that may or may not be coming. I can't see this going down well with the top brass.

(This is pure speculation on my behalf, based purely on what I've read in the past 2 days.)

G'mornin' Tunes! lol. Wat's poppin'?

and to your inquiry - no, it wouldn't end until the regular season began, even if he fell off the edge of the Earth today.
And anywhays, who's the guy who likes to write about things long after they've been done & culturally buried decades prior?
(oh come awn now, it was pretty clever. see what I did there? tehee)

If Hernandez is accused of the homicide, this is one of the biggest stories in the history of the NFL. A Hernandez thread will be a fixture here and all the boards right through a trial.

If he is accused of just obstruction of justice in the hours after the murder in a stupid attempt to protect a friend or his girl friend's sister, it will die down quickly.

Apparently, the authorities are preparing warrants for the arrest of Hernandez and others. They've probably got a good idea who they like for the murder. Today should be another one of breaking news.

That's the thing. We're all shocked by this and don't want to believe he might be gone because of it. But the more I hear about Ahern as a person, the less I want to know.

Wow, way to go out on a limb there. Good thing you added the "pure speculation" disclaimer. lol.

Dude, it's already a sure thing that he's never going to put on a Patriots uniform ever again. You seem to be the only person who's oblivious to the blatantly obvious. Guilty or not, it matters not. It's about public opinion and the mental imagery of all he's being connected with.

(this is pure speculation on my behalf, based purely on what I've read in the past 2 days.) lol. please. yuh, like it might be some big conspiracy orchestrated by some third tier gangsters from Providence, Rhode Island, of all places. rotf! Better make sure ta get that disclaimer in there before someone thinks yer jumping the gun on this Hernandez guy.

(please excuse my wizenheimer antics. I AM from Brooklyn, after all. I just can't help myself. tehee)

I think he will sing like a canary if it means less jail time.

You know it's a good day when you wake up and find that no Patriot murdered anyone last night.

very sad and bad news.

Everyone is counting this team out.

We are gonna have 52 other guys...I think they may have something to say about everyone burying us.

That run game is coming along...like to see it develop even more this year.

In the end, I hope justice is served....

I'm guessing they're trying to flip him into testifying against the other two suspects. The obstruction charge gives them the leverage to do it. Again just speculation but AH could be concerned with being charged as an accessory which is why he's been dragging his feet. There are a lot of variables at this point...

If AH did not kill the guy it's only a matter of time before he starts cooperating. I doubt he is willing to risk his freedom protecting a murder suspect(s).

Looks like it's not reporter speculation anymore. Let's hope it's the cops that are lying.

Why isnt Hernadez'z lawyer out there disputing these so called LIES?

His lawyer brought the smashed cell phone to authorities.

Looks like the police are grabbing at staws, No evidence, except some flimsy circumstantial. They are not closer to the murderer today then they were when this started. All these leaks, if there was something concrete, we would hear about it.

So far to me it seems like a 3 ring circus, a lynch mob.

Wow great job "police" obstruction of justice....

car...blood? Lloyd got out to take a leak and someone shot him? Back of the head, doesnt seem like a heat of the moment thing. Which is all i can imagine AH doing.

More likely to me, drug deal gone bad, or some jealous BF.

Fact is up to now....no hard evidence.

We hav no idea which of these media reports are true, but folks have been convicted on far less. Stop watching CSI where there's tons of forensic evidence. Many crimes result in sentences with what you term circumstantial evidence.

IF HE DID WRONG,

whether it was the OJ route (did it himself) or the Ray Lewis (protected / covered for the homie) route; there is no way in heck AH is getting away with anything.

Both those guys had political situations that were inherent & UNIQUE to LA and Atlanta that their astute law teams (OJ) or (either incompetent or incredibly smart but politically movitated) public [prosecuting] attorney (RL) took advantage of to ensure the defendent would get off scot free. ( I somehow lived in BOTH CITIES AT THE TIMES OF THOSE TRIALS. )

I dont believe that the MASS legal [prosecuting] establishment is at anywhere near the low of those two cities. AH wouldn't have a prayer of walking away without doing some kind of serious time.

Check out miguel's page for contract details; I doubt they can get back any SB [that level detail (morals clause) is not going to be found on any website]. But of course all salary and future bonuses would get cancelled. Only big problem would be any SB cap-hit accelleration.
