There's a reason he isn't tendered higher. He's got ok size. I think there should be more focus on the secondary then acquiring every teams number 3 or 4 receiver.

With the talent we currently have at WR Sanders would easily be #1. Be careful what you dont wish for.

Just because they work on both sides of the football it doesn't mean they don't have a plan for the secondary. As long as Talib and Grimes are available and we have visits from players like Wilson, Abraham, Freeney I really like they way the last few hours have been shaping up.

I forgot I can only be happy with anything this organization does. Take off the homer glasses. It's always good times for you because the patriots do no wrong

Right. Because the only two possible stances one could hold are mindless criticism or mindless homerism.

It's not whining. I'm criticizing them but I guess all criticism equals whining ? I'm sick of posters attacking everyone who questions the organization. Attack the argument not the poster. Just makes you look like a blind zealot.

I'm happy to do that, too. Your argument sucks because:

1.) At 5'11, he's hardly a smurf

2.) Signing a WR doesn't preclude them from addressing the defense

I understand your concern about secondary man.....but being a #3 in Pitt doesn't mean he couldn't be a #1 or 2 here.....Remember he was behind Wallace and Brown out there.....BTW...Who would you like them to go get for secondary? I think they will re-sign Talib...who else do you like out of all the FA out there? thx

I like the speedy versatile WRs they've been targeting.

That's my point! When he's our number 1 how good will they be? He has potential but is it worth a pick and a front loaded deal that takes away from our cap space this year to sign defense ?

Brady2Moss be careful of jack out of the box bauer he has a man crush on certain posters including myself.

The Patriots had a grand total of ONE wideout signed when free agency began, does it really surprise you they're going after receivers? That doesn't mean they aren't seriously considering acquiring players for the secondary or the defensive side of the ball, just that they are trying to fill the most glaring need in the team first.

He could be good I don't dislike the move in general but giving up a pick and front loaded cap ... Who says he picks up the system ?

I like talib, Wilson, nnamdi, Reed maybe. A lot of secondary is off the board that could've helped. I would've loved Kenny Phillips. There's still time but I'd like to see something before talib gets snapped up.

I agree it's a need right up there with CB, but really how good is Donald jones going to be, buffalo didn't even want him. Sanders is a good player I guess it depends on the contract

The Patriots didn't want Welker either, is that an indictment of his quality as a player? So what you're saying is we shouldn't sign any free agents, because how good can they be if their teams weren't willing to go the necessary lenghts to retain them?

Haven't seen much of him play, is Sanders an option for throwing deep?

We have 3 million right now with 5.5 coming on June second. We'll have roughly 9 million in total when other cuts are made, which is plenty for draft picks.

Ok.. I didn't realize that Colon was given the June 1st waiver tag. So, 2.15M hits this year and the remaining 4.3 next year. Got it.

They say his strengths are his quickness and ability to get yards after catch. Not the fastest guy, but faster than anyone we've got.

Sanders, lloyd, Amendola...i like that....but who knows if pitt will match offer

Lol no you need to take into account production. Welker has a **** ton Donald jones has next to none most of it against us

This is false. They had 4 WRs signed to the Roster at the start of free agency.

They had Lloyd, Ebert, K. Aiken, and Andre Holmes.
No,I don't count Slater as a WR since he's used there only in an emergency..

This is foolish - none of the free agents on the market are wanted by their former teams for a variety of reasons

And 3 were thrilled to stand on the sidelines in their street clothes squirting water into the mouths of the guys that hoist the FG net on game day.

Really! There was this guy in 2007 named Welker that came here and ended up being pretty good. This bum named Moss who was washed up.

Why would anyone assume that sanders would out preform anyone when our Offense and QB and coaching and system has tunred bums and JAGs and young hungry up and coming players into HOF performers.

I will never understand knee jerk, sarcastic responses to every move because we dont have a player with great "stats" anymore.
