I agree with Reiss's suggestion that Vernon Butler would likely have been the Pats' 1st rounder this year. That would have meant no need to reach for Valentine in Rd 3, allowing them to take Booker there if they had wanted. Plus maybe they don't feel the need to take another QB in the 3rd round if Brady is not facing imminent suspension.

Thoughts on how the Pats' draft might have looked without league intervention?

I don't think they liked this RB class at all, and I think ball security was the reason. They had numerous opportunities to take a RB and passed up every one.
