Zappe is playing well but Musketfire is garbage. I've seen this mentioned about that site at other places as well.

Zappe is playing with the 2s and 3s.. he should be doing well. He has a season under his belt, and starting experience. However Mac is the starting QB. Trust and believe the organization is going to do everything so Mac is put in advantageous positions this season.

I've also heard from that same musket fire.. about how Mac is in a totally new offense. Curran mentioned the offense is actually geared more towards what Mac is good at from his first season and Alabama. Mac is going up against our 1st team defense.. that now has the presence of a lockdown CB.. nothing is going to be easy for him. Our defense also was excellent in the redzone last season. So iron sharpens iron.

Zappe has been a Pro through all of this. I have no doubt that he has worked harder than Jones and that his next opportunity ( in the near future and in NE ) wont be squandered. There will be no question who this team can win with and who will drag everyone down.

There was even a video from mini camp shared on social media of Mac Jones throwing a touchdown pass to Tyquan Thornton. When watched closely, it appears Mac is throwing one way, and the ball travels another. A Twitter post suggested that the reception was from a Zappe pass, and somebody had spliced together two videos just to get Mac more press.

I expected him to play decent, I was here on the draft day thread pumping him up. He was great in college. Nobody wants to admit and possibly jinx it, but there's a distinct possibility the Pats have two good young QB's.

Both Mac and Zappe had the skillset necessary to play in the pros and were accurate in college. Now it's just a matter of who reaches their potential first and the team's ability to recognize which talent has a higher ceiling.

Camp competition, joint practices and preseason will sort it out.

It's better to have two good young QB's than not.

And then he was smacked by the 32nd ranked Bears defense….yikes

Dude can be a very good backup. No evidence to date he’s more than that.

Mac was drafted at 15 overall.. Cam actually played well In camp.. and BB was labeling him the starter.. he slipped up when he left the team temporarily. Mac took his job. Won 10 games and brung a team to a playoff Berth. Mac is the clear QB for this team. The haters will have to find some new material after he bounces back this season.

There's plenty of evidence he has the skillset to play at a pretty high level if he sticks to the positives and works on his negatives.

As a starter he was as good as you can hope a rookie to be with the worst offensive coordinator in the league. The Bears game was in the rain and got away from the entire team. He showed some sparks of becoming a starter.

Because he's not going up against our 1st team defense all the time..primarily Mac has.. please don't get me wrong I'm not rooting against Zappe I'm just pointing out the reports from Curran. It has been a mix..

So I'll say this. Let Zappe have the 1st team offense and go against the 1st team defense then let's see.. oh your right he was 4 for 10 against our first team defense forgot about that.

I am as big of a Mac supporter as there is. Maybe discuss it, react to an article and and an obvious question without making it about the poster. Just a thought.

The article is a piece of ****, just the entire Musketfire site and this thread. The notion that there has been a concerted effort by some on social media and by some beat writers to falsely pump Mac’s tires dating back to OTAs even though Zappe is outplaying him is absurd conspiracy theory-level BS.

That’s correct, there isn’t yet. We’ll find out more this year. If he isn’t the guy they will not extend him and move on picking a QB high in the next draft to develop hopefully into the franchise guy.
