Duron Harmon has become one of my favorite Patriot players.

Harmon is a great example of the Patriot Way that many people outside of Pats nation don't understand. He works hard, knows his role, does his job, and is a leader. Not to mention he seems like a good dude with his charity work.

As @Wheelman said, Harmon made a great play on PIT’s second to last offensive drive. Receiver was running a shallow route with the corner a few steps behind. Harmon comes down from his safety spot, tackles the receiver without giving any yards after the catch. Makes it 4th down and gets Ben off to field and gives the ball to Brady with time to engineer the comeback.

He is always there to make plays when we need him to the most.

I never look at a play and think, "d%#*!@t Harmon, you blew that coverage." This guy is flat out sound in everything he does. He's kinda like our modern, even better version of James Sanders, who was another guy I always liked.

What I really hold special about him is that he was originally considered another BB Safety reach when he was drafted in 2013. For how much Tavon Wilson and Jordan (yeesh) Richards have struggled here, you know Bill really made a great move finding this guy.

Love having this guy here. Don't let him go anywhere anytime soon!

I have mixed feelings about Harmon. I think he's one of the best third safeties in the league, and if he's starting for you he's not a weakness. He has a penchant for game-sealing INTs, and seems to be a leader in the locker room. We're a better team for having him on it, and Belichick clearly values him based on the contract he just got.

At the same time, he takes way too many atrocious angles when coming up to make a tackle, and as a result a lot of 10 yard plays turn into 25+ yard plays largely due to his mistakes. On the whole the good outweighs the bad, and if he improves in this area he'll become an exceptional player, but he does need to improve quite a bit there. Or maybe I've just been spoiled by years of McCourty.

Easily the most underrated player on the team. Some guys are just playmakers. Either through intelligence or instinct they just have a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

He is the human victory cigar.

He's a great example of what can happen when you trust your coaching and work hard to know where you're supposed to be. His INT's are rarely highlight reel stuff, but there's something to be said for a guy who is always close enough to the ball to be getting those deflections, or overthrown balls, etc. It's like a guy who always seems to come up with a fumble: sometimes that's the ball bouncing his way, but he never gets that chance if he doesn't have good enough instincts and knowledge to be close in the first place.

I read a B.B. interview where he stressed not looking to your superstars (see “killer bees.”) He said you lean on your “dependables.”

We always (well, almost always) have that rock solid face of the franchise in TFB. But he pushes *himself* to be in that “dependables” category too... not some heisman winner refusing to go somewhere unless the “situation” is right.

I hear all about teams that are supposed to have a “working class” character... in terms of putting in work, I don’t see where anybody tops NE. Of course, I never see where anybody tops NE.

Is it easier or harder to be a different team vs. different opponents? Is it easier or harder to rely just on a few superstars?

Okay we’re not the only ones - Pittsburgh is actually another good example, in some ways. (Hey look! Pittsburgh can play man coverage!) But I dare say not many teams expect that of every player and get big situational wins out of so many different guys.

Also, the fix was in and the refs cheated for us.
