Dungy: Brady has had a better career than Manning

Wow. This is like a 10 on the shocker scale. Haven't read article yet but thread title is amazing. I always thought I had a better chance of being abducted by aliens than hearing this from Dungy.

Close the laptop, Earthling. It's time for your evening probe.

The all time great Peyton Manning should be able to at least go even in TD/INT especially with the run game he had.
Their run game was very average.

I bet Marino would trade some of the records he retired with and has since been passed for a ring.

While Manning will retire as the statistically better quarterback, Rodgers will retire ahead of him. Rodgers is ahead of Peyton (and Brady) in passer rating, yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, net adjusted yard per attempt, and touchdown percentage. They both have 1 SB. It's a passing era and will continue to be. Look at Marino. He won't be top 5 in passing yards or td's by the time Brady Brees and Rodgers are done.

Brady has played about well enough to win 5 super bowls. Manning, just one. Brady has not always been stellar, but has been one defensive stop away from victory in his two losses. Manning got blown out, and threw a game sealing pick-6 in the other.

How so? Addai had a pretty good season...

And maybe you don't remember their playoff run all that well. Oh well

The 2006 Colts were not a smash-mouth, run it down your throat offense. Lots of draws, counters and misdirection. They ran well when defenses focused on the passing game -which was more often than not.

The finished 18th in yards and 16 in YPC. That's average.

Addai was a slightly above-average RB. Just enough to keep them honest.

When they had Edge James...they were a running team for sure.

The Forehead Fly-Landing strip had Edgerin James in his prime. Zilch.....had rules changed four straight years by HIS boss, Polian to specifically help HIM....then 2006. What was his QB rating in the fix...er win? 22.7 or something. Joke. Huge joke on us.

THAT is cheating. THAT should have been a million dollar fine and loss of a number 1 draft pick. Instead, Polian has left the NFL entirely and Goondell has continued the onslaught of "Peytie Rules" changes ever since.

His rookie season, he had Marshall Faulk, Marvin Harrison, Torrence Small, Jerome Pathon, Ken Dilger and Marcus Pollard as his weapons.

If only he had Troy Brown...

20 bucks says come play off time, the media will be doing it's usual, which includes blatant cheering, desperate hope, lies, and a complete contradiction of their regular season mumbo-junbo which begins in September with his `greatness` and ends in the winter with "Legacy Bowls"

"This is the year. He has X, Y and Z, this time. Peyton's teams have always lacked X, Y and Z. If he can win this year, he'll go down as the best ever."

Peyton doesn't like to run the ball. I don't think he ever has. That's a weakness of his play calling. The year they won the SB, he just went up to the line and ran it more without hesitation and changing plays. That alone helps a run game cause you blockers are ready to just go out smash. He doesn't really like to run the ball until late in the game, when he has a lead to run off time.
As he has gotten older and slower, it's tough for him to hand off quickly and smoothly to the RB. His fans will always say, "If Peyton only had a run game to help him." But I believe the lack of a run game goes back to him. He would rather throw short passes IMO.

Nothing is more annoying then watching him dump a quick duck off for 7 yards which the receiver then takes 70 yards to the house while breaking 3 tackles. The announcers are always all "Wow, Peyton is amazing. Look how he put his teammate in a position to break all those tackles and out run the entire defense. That's a great play by Peyton."

I'm surprised they don't give him credit for defensive plays.
"You just gotta' believe it was easier for that safety to make that interception knowing Peyton is on the sidelines. Another great play by Manning."

There was a moment in the first half Sunday when the Cardinals' offense was moving. During a timeout, Manning was signaling to the Broncos' defense what to expect.

Peyton is one ring away from making it a discussion worth having and brady is one ring away from ending the discussion completely.

he was asked who career do you wants Tom Brady or Peyton Manning's so he said Tom Brady cause he went to 5 SB's and won 3 and as a coach that's all he cares about is wining and then said but Peyton career is not over yet...so all he said is the pats have been a better team he never said Brady is the better QB

and one more ring and Drew Brees gets put in the talks with Peyton and Brady Bottom line is until they end there career we wont really know who is better, even if Brady gets 5 rings there are still going to be people who are going to talk about Peyton who may end his career with 80000 yards passing and 600 TD's

This is mannings last year..he doesn't win it this year I think he hangs it up. I think this is his last year regardless

The one thing that seems to get ignored in the Brady vs Manning "debate" is the affect that playing in perfect conditions has had on Manning's stats compared to Brady's. That combined with the better weapons and the control of the offense Manning has been given, gave P6 a big edge in statistics.
