1. Reach for an OT
2.Take a RB
3. Trade up for Mayfield/Allen
4.Reach for a TE
Players I would like to see in the 1st round: Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Roquan Smith, LVE, Maurice Hurst (medical permitting), Jaire Alexander, Harold Landry, Mike Hughes, Calvin Ridley.
My ideal scenario is Josh Rosen slipping to 8-10 range and we can swoop in with a trade up to get the best QB in the draft and our future franchise QB.Would happily trade both 1sts if needed. That would still leave us with 2 2nds to strengthen the D.
I look forward three seasons from now, when the Patriots rehabilitate the career of whichever quarterback the Browns ruin.
The point being that if they don't know by now, the chances are they will totally screw up the pick (and probably the whole draft). This is the telling quote:
“If there was a consensus John had come to, he would’ve told me,” Jackson said, via Cleveland.com. “That’s not the case. … When John Dorsey goes dark, he goes dark.”
IOW, Dorsey is "the consensus", and the freakin' Head Coach is being kept totally out of the loop.
So, Jackson is telling the truth. As far as he knows, everyone is in play.

by that time we were used to it with terrance wheatley, ras i dowling, darius butler...this sh.ts been going on alot longer than anyone cares to remember
I would just take that with a grain of salt. Every year you hear rumors of "Pats looking to move up!" and in reality it's only happened in the 1st round in 3 of Belichick's 18 drafts. This is just Belichick doing his due diligence. 10 minutes to make a draft pick isn't much time at all, as anyone who's done a fantasy draft can attest. He wants to see who's amenable to a trade in case someone falls and what the cost is. That way he's not wasting time (or anyone else's time) doing cold calls and major negotiations during those 10 minutes.
If the 2nd tweet is true and not intentional disinformation leaked by the team, then I'd expect Rosen to be one of those targets of guys who fall. But I highly doubt he'd trade into the top 5 to get him; that's just not consistent with his past history, he'd only trade up if Rosen falls which would make the cost cheaper.
What does the 2nd tweet say? Albright has me blocked.
Saying he got a txt about the Pats interest in Josh Rosen.
Who’s Albright?
I disagree with this. Those guys had talent and their selection spots weren't surprises even if the Pats actually picking them was. A week before the draft Mike Reiss actually guessed the Pats would take Darius Butler with pick 23. Ras-I was like Gronk and Easley, guys who had potential game breaking talent but always was injured; maybe pick 33 was a little aggressive but he fit the classic mold of a 2nd rounder. I have more of a problem with Easley than Ras-I in that they actually spent a 1st (with that valuable 5th year option) on him despite two major red flags - his multiple ACL injuries and questions on his passion for football. He had 2nd rounder written all over him.
On the other hand, Tavon, Richards, and Harmon were just out of nowhere guys who generally had 5th round grades if that by the outside "experts" who even bothered to look at them. Different than the former group in my opinion.
Second time Rapsheet has mentioned Landry & the Patriots.
Not really news at this point. Really opens up no 2 and what happens to Barkley.
How dumb. They just hired that coach who will probably be gone next year.
I hope John Dorsey is not that dumb.
Saddest day for the United States after 9/11 and Pearl Harbor IMO.
