I am with you about the RB position.
However I saw Hunter doing some exceptional blocking and catching at the senior bowl. If he does not have a history of fumbling and runs well, I suspect he could be on BB's radar.
Apparently, he's fumbled a couple handoffs in practice, but both may have been from Stanzi so god only knows whose fault it was.
There seems to be some observational disagreement about Hunter's blocking from guys on site. I saw one comment that Hunter was the best RB at picking up the blitz, then another saying he was obviously overmatched in blocking drills and struggling to get leverage (though it didn't say who that was against), and then a third comment saying he was getting destroyed in passpro. IDK, at 5'7"/199, I'm not sure what anyone would expect him to be able to do against someone like Jordan or what Woodhead might be expected to do against, say, Shaun Ellis.
OTOH, the comments I've read about Hunter's running have been almost universally positive, like quick, elusive, makes guys miss, creates on his own, unexpectedly tough between the tackles, etc. All of which are things that have been said about Woodhead, too.
And that's the thing for me. With his size and skillset, Hunter seems to duplicate what we already have in Woodhead. Having a second Woodhead doesn't seem like a bad thing, and I wouldn't necessarily mind having him as a 4th guy behind Woody, BGE and somebody a little bigger than BGE's 5'11"/215 for straight ahead between the tackles pounding. Those guys tend to wear out a lot quicker, it seems to me, so it would be nice to have more than one.
Not that I'm particularly recommending him, but Daniel Thomas is 6'2"/228 (almost identical in size to Fred Taylor), hasn't had a serious injury in the past couple years (as far as I can tell), seems likely to be no slower or less elusive than BGE, and he might be a bit more prolific receiver than BGE. And, we might be able to pick him up with our #60 or even our #74 (and still get Hunter later).
