Do we want Steelers out of playoffs?

Can't say that any team is particularly concerning right now. For me, I'd probably look at Oakland, mostly because I'm least familiar with them so seems more unknown. But in Foxborough, with health and nothing bizarre (like the Ravens game), the Pats win the AFC.

Ok in your scenario, steelers are 6, which makes ratbirds 3. They would play in wc round in Baltimore. Ratbirds swept ****sburg, and you think they will magically win the Wc round?
I don't predict anything actually. I am just presenting one scenario. Interesting there is no foregone conclsuin about 3 or 4 seed right now, as the North and the South are basically very close record wise.

Right because he has cost us how many games?

Do you really want to leave him in on the return teams at this point and find out? He was solid on defense and would like to see him as the nickel corner to round out the season. I don't believe he allowed anything short of the 9 route to Perriman in which he was still in tight coverage. But I don't want to see him returning kicks this season anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if Belichick felt the same. I think that's something they have to work with him on extensively in TC next year.

I think you have to play the best teams to win the superbowl. If the Steelers are one of those teams, then so be it.

Lots to like about your logic here, but I'm still a bit on the cautious side due to your point about needing the proper luck to win it all. In that same vein, matchups are very important and could potentially be the difference between winning and losing.

Just to throw out an example, do you think the Steelers go to the SB in 2005 if the Pats don't lose at Denver? How about 2008 when we didn't get in with the 11-5 record? Or even 2010 when we lost to the NYJ and they went on to the SB yet again by avoiding us?

Look at it this way Sup, who is there to fear more than Tom Motherf.ckin' Brady and Bill Belichick? It's much better to be the Patriots than to have to beat them.

If Baltimore wins out they will win their division. The Steelers or Dolphins could be 6th seed (If 6th seed advances #1 seed gets them in Divisional) If at 13-2 we have the 1 seed clinched, do we consider resting eveyone and not going all out against Miami? (Not trying to lose, but not too upset if we don't win)

If Pittsburgh is the number 6 seed, I see them advancing, so they would be our first play off game assuming we get the 1 seed. Just asking your thoughts... I normally hate thinking about losing to adjust your opponents, but I would not want to see them in the Divisional.

I know there are other possibilites happening in reality, I understand that, BUT if this was the situation... (we have the 1 seed at 13-2, we beat Dolphins, Pitt gets in at 6, or we lose, Dolphins get in at 6.) What do you think?

yes...only 1 of Ravens or Steelers. its good they play eachother. one is guaranteed another loss. and we can tank vs dolphins week 17 if clinched 1 seed

I don't care about any teams except the Donkeys, Ratbirds and Dolts. I want them to fail miserably for all tume, nnot just in playoffs.

That's the bold approach to take and it certainly isn't "wrong" on any level, but I want the easiest path to win a Super Bowl as possible, as would any rational fan.

My love for the team and hunger as a fan to see that 5th SB trumps any need for excitement. If I'm looking for thrills and nailbiting moments, I'll bring a hooker home for dinner tomorrow and see how my wife reacts.
Oh no!!!!

Theyre a threat but no more or less than most of the other teams. Theyre once again the flavor of the month. Last year too everyone was talking about pitt and kc being the teams nobody wanted to face and neither made the afcc, while we ended losing to denver. Of course denver is likely not gonna be the same threat this year, and kc maybe more of a threat, but you are what your record says you are and the steelers are an 8-5 team. Certainly capable of knocking us out but not a whole lot more than the others, minus Houston.

Be a good test for sure, killer running game. But gotta play the best to be the best. I just want denver out, not because of fear of playing them just because it would make my day at work here in denver.

With a number one seed there's noone scary in the AFC, unless we get more injury issues. Steelers in a shootout, I'll take the pats. Ditto the raiders.

KC in KC is a bit scary though.

Every ****ing year the Pats r "scared" of Pittsburgh...no, who gives a schitt about Pittsburgh....the Pats SHOULD beat ANYONE in the field in foxboro in the playoffs. If the Pats play their best, avoid more injuries and don't turn it over at home they will beat anyone... That same scenario on road is much different....and their home playoff losses r largely a result of injuries, turnovers and self inflicted wounds

Anyone watching their game? Because if that's the steelers team that shows up in the playoffs I absolutely would want them in. But regardless don't care either way, Brady led offenses shred the steelers.

Absolutely. They are the worst possible playoff matchup for us. Our defense is terrible and their offense is explosive. It depends on which Steelers team shows up- they are inconsistent. But on a good day, all their players healthy, they are the one team that I think could beat us in the AFC. Maybe even blow us out. KC and Oakland concern me a little bit for different reasons. And Baltimore is not a good team, but we always seem to play down to their level.

It's not going to be a cakewalk, no matter who we play. It shouldn't be, it's the playoffs. But the one team that really scares me is Pittsburg. The idea that we "own" them is laughable. That was the result of **** Lebeau's predictability. He's long gone. What happens in one game has zero effect on the other

As long as we're at home I don't give a flying, fiddler's f### who we play.

Why the hell do we have this thread every year?

Brady ****ing dominates the Steelers and they have never beat us in the playoffs under the BB/Brady era. And that's when they've actually had homefield advantage and elite defenses.

No, I'm not concerned with them at all. Give me the Steelers every day of the week over the Ravens, not even a discussion to me.

I want everyone out of the playoffs except us. We win all games because we have no opponents to play.
