I think the people on this thread who are mocking Laurence Maroney as someone who didn't run hard should go back and have a look at his first couple of seasons. Here, for example, are highlights from the playoff victory in 2007 against Jacksonville. No one can tell me that that wasn't the performance of a decisive, punishing running back. Maroney's problem, it seems to me, was injury (and, perhaps, temperament).

Some of the kvetching comes from his draft position. As a first rounder, everybody was expecting a superstar for 10 years. The Law Firm got the opposite effect, seeming more special hitting a 1,000 yards coming from a previous UDFA.
