Dez Bryant signs w/ Saints [update: torn achilles in practice]

Where is the SB this year? If it's in a dome I'd be worried that Brees would torch our defense apart if both teams get there, but that's independent of Bryant.
Like Rodgers did?

A few weeks ago against KC?
We won that game, right?
I get your point, NO is playing lights out, but NO should be worried about the PAT's. IMO.

I fear no team right now.

I trust BB more than any coach.
If the Pats stay healthy enough, they will get(and have been) better.

I'm not saying we would lose against NO since their D has issues as well, but the Saints offense would be tough for any team. Their D is actually weird - 1st against the run, but near the bottom of the league against the pass.

Eh, not really. He’d be a bad fit here. He’s a much better fit in Payton’s offense.

Radio pundits down here GA were saying the Saints were looking for a quasi TE/WR type of target.

My mistake. I guess the Rams have the best paper defense.
They did sign some marquee players for their defense but really do rely on their offense

They are a very good D on paper, but haven't played like it this year. Aqib Talib being out has probably hurt a bit, and Marcus Peters isn't playing like a shut down corner anymore.

Saints fan here. They needed somebody to help out. Ted Ginn was the #2 but he got hurt in week 3 and is on IR. Cameron Meredith is on the roster and has played well at times but he's had a couple setbacks coming back from ACL surgery and you can't count on him to be available every week. Current #2 and #3 WRs are Tre'Quan Smith (decent, but still a rookie) and Austin Carr who is small and doesn't get great separation.

I don't know if Dez is the answer but they had to do something. Best case scenario he ends up like you guys with Josh Gordon, worst case scenario he acts an ass and gets cut and we haven't lost anything except time.

This signing won't HURT New Orleans.

Has he really been triple teamed? I'm curious to know.

Brees has 28 passing attempts inside 10 yards and Kamara has 24 rushing attempts inside 10 yards. Of those 52 attempts, only 10 passes went to Thomas (who caught 8). This doesn't include other RB's attempts, QB sneaks, and Taysom Hill's gadget plays. So, Thomas is targeted less than 20% of the time inside 10 yards for all offensive plays.

Brees has 279 passing attempts and Thomas has 79 targets as of week 9. That is 28% target rate all season for all passing plays. 35% passing target rate inside the 10 yard line.

I think Thomas gets more TD targets inside the 10 now with Dez's big body a threat. Maybe like 50% of all passing attempts. Can only help.

So you haven't actually seen Michael Thomas get triple teamed. I knew it was too outrageous to be true.

Seemed that way when I was begging for a TD 2-3 weeks ago!

We shall see if he has any of that ( moss-like) freakish athleticism left...

c'mon nobody gets triple-teamed

Mike typically does draw a safety over the top which is why he doesn't get more big plays. I can't for the life of me figure out what the Rams were thinking manning up Peters on him. This dude has had his way with plenty of big-time corners including Rhodes, Trufant, Talib, Harris, Tredavious White, Lattimore (in practice) etc. Only guy I ever recall that really got his number was Slay.

FYI Meridith was placed on IR

Terrible news for Bryant, who'd just gotten himself set up with a top flight team. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds

Cool investment, bro.
